Although they might not be the best example, I know Cuba uses FOSS for their computers, and North Korea uses Gnu/Linux too, and since under Socialism I figure eventually as time goes on people would switch to free software instead of proprietary to keep up with the times as I figure Microsoft won't be all that popular of a group after a revolution.

Intellectual property is bourgeois and should be abolished. Free software is a legal reformist means to move past IP. I think people should also promote the abolishment of IP and the normalization of software piracy as a way to completely invalidate the IP concept though.
