I don't often talk abut international concerns like he does, more of a socialism in one country get out shit together before we try liberating the third-world kind of guy. I also did heavily disagree with him making fun of the fat positive movement where he suggested they wNt to ignore science. I think they're just trying to move society away from shaming people who make up the fucking majority but somehow still are unatrractive, lazy, and over indulgent.

Communism is supposed to be classless, which means that a single person isn't exalted above the common man and portrayed as something akin to a god. Once you've done that, you done fucked up.

Totalitarianism as a "theory" was basically codified by Arendt and used to lump the Nazi and Soviet systems together in contrast to "free" liberal-democracy.

Thanks. I'll admit that >>2291 is right in the sense that I'm "new" here. I've just really started learning about communism, socialism, and Marxism, so if I come off as though I don't know my Marx, chances are it's because I don't.

I discovered this board a while back, and I'm trying to use it as a learning tool to find out what these ideas really are. This is, I think, the best place to learn about Marxism I've seen mostly because it isn't littered with Tumblr-esque sjw nonsense, which, unfortunately, the majority of communist sites tend to be.

Just for future reference, and so I don't make a complete fool of myself, what kinds of books, videos, blogs, websites or other resources would you recommend I look into? From what I've seen about capitalism In person, I do believe it is exploitative, and I do want to learn about alternative schools of thought. If you decide to help me, then thank you; I'd appreciate it greatly.

Generally I’m of the opinion that you should read as widely as possible. No matter how much you may come to disagree with a text it is better that you have read it so you can properly critique it. Probably one of the worst habits the modern left seems to have is its anti-intellectual fear of reading anything “problematic”.

If you wish to understand the basic essentials of Marx and Engels’ thought I’d recommend beginning with “Principles of Communism” by Engels and “The Communist Manifesto” by Marx/Engels. Both are easy to digest and can be finished quite quickly.

After that to gain a basic understanding of Marx’s historical materialism and the concepts of “mode of production”, “forces of production”, “relations of production” and so on I’d recommend these:
