Personal political philosophies people have each hold unto themselves a certain set of assumptions about how the way the world works currently and how the world should work, and no amount of debate will change these set of assumptions. Someones' ideology might change, but the fundamental assumptions that make them hold onto these ideologies cannot simply be changed through an exchange of words; only confrontation with political reality within the context of personal perspective can do that.

The way I see it, you can still be a trot on this forum as long as you aren't a jackass about it. The problem is is that trots tend to be jackasses around MLs and vice-versa. The whole Stalin-Trotsky debate is so full of fucking shit, it's getting real tired; no one goddamn argues socialist theory when they argue, they just argue that one side is good and the other bad.

Also, there are debate threads on /marx/, we just don't see the point in debating with nazis.

Go to /natsoc/ and spout your disagreements with the NS viewpoint, give a logical criticism, and you may be able to sway those evil fascists to your side.

We don't debate with liberals or conservatives on here (at least not at any great length) unless they come in to ask questions like "so what do you think about the fact stalin killed everyone" or whatever. This board is basically intended for anyone who self-identifies as "Marxist-Leninist" (which, at the very least, means they say they uphold Leninism and do not identify as Trotskyists.) I'm pretty sure /pol/ is the general "everyone debates with everyone" board.
