I have yet to come of age, but my parents get something for me being aspergic.
Must've been easy for my mother to acquire, since she worked at a company relating to aspergers.

>mfw it's actually possible to get money for having a low-strength form of a low-severity condition

 No.4029

Speaking of aspergers, why is there not a separation between the autism and aspergic flags?
They're pretty different (though often mutually inclusive) conditions, and screw whoever it was who decided to remove the distinction.

I've always been confused, what's the difference?

Autism is a generally a destructive condition in terms of cognition (But it has little limitation to what it can do constructively), and autists are usually more secluded than aspergics.
Aspergers tends to have less of an overall effect than autism, and annoyingly some fool decided that meant that aspergers was just a weaker form of autism.

I'm still trying to get on SSI, since 2010.

actually it's just a spectrum. their is no clear line dividing the two. their is people who fit right between autism and aspergers and some people who barely fit on the autism spectrum cause they are so high functioning. then your severe cases where people don't talk or have very little brain functioning.

 No.4066

Because Autism is such a broad spectrum I didn't think it was wise to have multiple flags for the different versions of it.

If enough people think I'm wrong, I'll take the time to make flags for all of them.

It took 2 or so years of being consistently denied until my lawyer finally got through all the stages necessary in order to appear in front of a judge. The amount of spaghetti I dropped during the hearing probably helped, but it's not something I'd like to have happened. Once I was "approved" I had to go through a ton of paperwork and questions and interviews at a disability/welfare/SS office and set up a bank account in a very specific manner. It's very tedious and exhausting.

Probably more or less to weed out losers who just want free money.

Given that people with autistic spectrum disorders seem to make up half the people on this board, making only one autistic spectrum flag but covering a huge range of other conditions seems odd.

Actually half the users of this board are bipolar and schizophrenic.

Should we do a survey thread or something?

The results would be distorted by those with multiple personality disorder though.

Kek, he's right, my second personality has different disorders that me.

But that would mean we do a DID answer for ones like me.
