I seem to be really sensitive to loud noises. Dogs barking, bells, planes, etc. I can't bring myself to ignore them no matter how hard I try. I used to think this was pretty normal but lately I've been hearing from other people that the same noises that drive me crazy don't really bother them that much, in fact they barely even notice them. Does anyone else here have the same problem? Have you found a way to deal with it?

 No.7509

I notice stuff like that extremely easily and I'm also fairly easily scared. It's actually pretty good socially, because people become all like "oh god, are you okay?" when they accidentally scare me and we can laugh off the sudden tension and stuff.

Not hugely bothered by loud noises but I have a pathological fear of food and all noises relating to it send me into a blind panic. It baffles me that other people don't give a shit if someone in the room is eating and even enjoy public eating. But I won't go into that. The only real solution I have is leaving the area or avoiding situations that will likely be troublesome, but if that's not an option I'll try to discreetly cover me ears by making it look like I'm just resting my head in my hands. You can use the joint in a finger to close that little cartilage flap above your earlobe, works much better than using your whole palm. Not a good solution but it eases the pain a bit. Only works if you're sitting though, can probably look weird, and you don't have any free hands.

>implying I have a social life
>implying it's socially acceptable for a man to get scared easily

Yeah I do that sometimes but it doesn't help much and it makes me look crazy I think. How on earth did you develop a fear of food anyway?

I get that. Best way is to shut the world out with headphones/background music.
Or earplugs, if you really need to drown shit out.

And don't work retail. Constant, constant, constant noise.

for some reason when im at a bar or a party, loud music and people dont get to me but when im at home and the television is really fucking loud i tend to lose it a little. dont know why, just do under particular circumstances.

 No.7646

I can't stand repetitive sounds. Music tracks that have the same sample repeating throughout the entire song or shitty dance music which is just 5 seconds of music looping for 5 minutes is unbearable and I have to leave the room.

I escape them.
Don't tell that they bother you, people will probably ridicule and ignore you. It's like saying you're seeing a color they can't. People don't like it.

I exit if music or noise is too loud for you.

Yeah, that's what I do when I'm at the computer… But listening to loud music all the time can't be good for your ears, not to mention that it makes it difficult to concentrate.

>>7647
I've stopped talking to people about it, it was a waste of time. The problem is, I can't escape the sounds, because they're literally everywhere (the dogs, the planes, the bells, the mopeds, etc). There's no place in my city where one can find peace and it seems I'm the only one who cares. They all just accept that while you're reading a book or watching a film, in the comfort of your home, a plane could fly over it, covering every other sound and making the windows shake, and that's just how it should be. It's fucking maddening.

When I hear a loud noise, I feel it all through my body. Doesn't really bother me, usually.

Then how did you hear this you fucking normal-fag?

Sudden loud noises such as car horns really get to me. I kick off and start swearing at the pricks if anyone honks near me. (they don't understand my traumatic childhood)
