I don't know what it's called, but I get that too. There's nearly always some piece of music or another stuck on a loop in my mind. Even sometimes when I'm out with my friends I'll just stop getting involved in the conversation to listen to the music that isn't actually there.

Maybe lots of people get it, I don't know. After all, there is that phrase: "it's stuck in my head" that people say after hearing a catchy song.

It happens to me too, when it's not music it's about random events that involves me or only other people, prolonged loops will make my head hurt unless I go to sleep, very problematic when I have some work to do.

On a casual basis, it's just "getting a song stuck in your head."

But I was reading recently that it's a symptom of schizophrenia to constantly get songs in your head and sing them regularly.

Could you tell me where you read that, please? I'd like to find out a bit more about it.

Thanks.

Me too. It used to bother me, but I started writing what I heard. It's been therapeutic to write and perform in a band.

It also makes the rare moment of silence that much sweeter.

As far as i know they are not halluinations untill OP is not aware that it is a creation of his mind.

I hate once when I smoked weed, the buzzing of mosquitos warped into the sound of violins, it lasted for three hours.

 No.8053

sometimes, when I'm more mentally unstable than usual, I hear music blaring in my ears so loud it's overwhelming for hours and hours on end. sometimes it'll be multiple songs at once. usually gets worse when I'm in bed trying to sleep.

Autism with psychotic tendencies. I don't really know for sure, I was the weird kid who became the fucked up kid and they had to diagnose me as something so I could get help and a place in a special school.

But most likely autism since I have typical autism traits such as a funny walk.
