/mental/ is probably asleep right now but I thought you guys might be interested in a insomnia thread.

We discuss insomnia, methods for getting sleep, etc

I've been awake 48 hours now

Don't force it. You'll fall asleep eventually, even if it is behind the wheel on your way to work. Good luck buddy!

I was tired a few hours ago but I don't really care anymore like many other times. I just wait until my brain doesn't work.

Quetiapine helps with my sleep. I take that with some melatonin.
Started taking it a few weeks ago and just…damn. All my fucking life I have been a tired mess, recently I've been getting up and feeling weird. Weird because I've felt well rested and managed to do shit all day without getting tired. Before it was around 2-4hours of games/other shit and after that I was just lazily listening to music and watching movies because I didnt have the energy to anything else.
Hopefully this helps atleast for some time longer because my god I feel like a different person. I dont feel like dying out of fear everytime I try to sleep, no more staying up few days at a time. Pretty good stuff.
Aside from the fact my left eye keeps twitching randomly now, thats mildly annoying.

Melatonin helps me drop off sometimes. Since I started taking Strattera I've been needing it.

>stay up for 3 days
>literally go insane
>fall asleep instantly when you can't handle it

Getting off the chans and making yourself bored would probably help. One of the prime things that keeps me from falling asleep is staying on the internet too much because there is always something interesting to read, watch or do. I don't really have insomnia, I just get distracted from sleep easily as other things keep me up.

Also, drinking Celestial sleepytime extra wellness tea with some melatonin is probably one of the healthiest knock-out concoctions I can imagine. The tea is chamomile with some other stuff in it, adding melatonin just increases the effectiveness.

This is something that most people should try. Staying off the internet. Just…clean or something, or if you hate tv, watch that for a while and you might feel tired.
Though people who cant sleep despite being sleepy should obviously avoid that, I know how infuriating it can be to get bored while having insomnia.

Does anyone get like "violent" or "brute" dreams when taking quetiapine? Not the same thing as nightmares but it's like I sense aggression from anyone and anything.

I thought my obsession with guro manga had something to do with it, but yeah I've seen some very vivid dreams with plenty of violence and awkward situations that are impossible to get away from. oddly enough I wake up feeling fine and calm in the mornings and the dreams arent really distressing like nightmares would be. Infact they are quite interesting.
Especially since I dreamed very rarely before, I nearly never remembered dreaming about anything before, then again I never slept a night without waking up a million times before. Now I dream every night and Im kind of looking forward to it every night.
I wonder if this will eventually wear off. I hope not.
