What I would like to do is encourage people to post technical issues directly into github, then make /operate/ into more of a blog.
Objectively speaking, /operate/ has become pretty worthless. It's so cluttered with noise and drama that it does not serve its original purpose -- which is to have a line of communication between staff and users. This is something 4chan lacked for basically its entire life and copy wanted to avoid it. Even back in Wizardchan, he had established a /meta/.
What went wrong is how a sort of culture formed around /operate/ and /meta/. There is a significant number, and a large portion of active posters, who post either primarily or exclusively on the /operate/ boards. This to me belies their intent; if the only board you post on has to deal with the site's management, you either do not have the site's interests in mind, or you are trying to become a moderator yourself and act vicariously through the staff by being the loudest complainer.
It's this sort of obfuscation that has put the board into its position, and is the main reason why copypaste seems so inactive compared to how he was before. It's not that he isn't around, he just doesn't have much to say. He still posts anonymously every day, I'm pretty sure.

>Sounding pretty schizophrenic here pal.
I'm pretty aware of how people reacted to me just being a developer and I'm also very aware that there are, as I mentioned, people saying unpopular things to stir drama. I do not believe anyone encouraging me to take over both 1) genuinely want me to, and 2) believe it will improve 8chan long-term.
>Are you saying if ol' freddit kicked the bucket that you wouldn't accept it if it was offered to you?
That probably wouldn't be an option. Jim owns the domain and the hardware. He would own 8chan. At best, I would be his employee.
