>Why do some of the people on /pol/ take themselves so seriously?
FTFY
Not all of us are mad geek betas who blame everyone who isn't white. I just want a place where I'm able to say the politically incorrect things that are on my mind. /pol/ is right about a whole lot of things that a huge proportion of Western society is ignorant to, like the ACTUAL status of interracial violence. I want to be a part of that truth with them, and yes, it is a serious matter. There are also times when you read a post and can feel the anger and hate of a social reject pouring out, but you just have to ignore it.
I think people on /pol/ do tend to overestimate their influence, especially when you can open up any newspaper and find several pieces that run counter to their beliefs. I don't think they appreciate just how pervasive psy ops are.
I still manage to have fun and laugh when I'm on /pol/. There are a lot of stupid threads that are just for making fun of bullshit news articles. What do you mean when you say "fun"?
