Flawless record's
We post/discuss LP's that are perfect from track one until the end.
>Alice in chains- Dirt
>Down- NOLA
(Will update when I think of more)
No.3432
>>3431I will agree with you on NOLA. For the style and what it is, it is fantastic and no band has come close to topping it. I'm not a huge Alice in Chains fan so I can't really comment on Dirt.
Here is what I have come up with immediately off the top of my head:
>Black Sabbath-Master of Reality>Iron Maiden-The Number of the Beast>Burzum-Hvis Lyset Tar Oss I'm more than willing to debate these.
Cool thread OP

>Bathory-Under the Sign of the Black Mark
>Celtic Frost-Morbid Tales
>Church of Misery-Master of Brutality
>Goatwhore-Carving out the Eyes of God
>Black Sabbath-Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
>Pantera-Great Southern Trendkill
>Venom-Black Metal
>Burzum-Filosofem
>Superjoint Ritual-A Lethal Dose of American Hatred
I'm limiting myself from one album per band, if I didn't, this list would be full of Church of Misery, and Ozzy Era Black Sabbath. I totally agree with Down-NOLA, though I hate Alice in Chains with a passion, so I couldn't really say anything about it.
No.3436
>Iron Maiden- Somewhere in Time
>Iron Maiden- Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
>Savatage- Hall of the Mountain King
>Fates Warning- The Spectre Within
>Queensryche- Operation: Mindcrime
>Megadeth- Rust in Peace
>Blind Guardian- Nightfall in Middle Earth
>Children of Bodom- Follow the Reaper
>Lost Horizon- A Flame to the Ground Beneath

>>3432I agree 100% on Burzum. I love that album.
Master of reality is my shit too, I only have it on vinyl and my record player's broken so it's been a while since I've spun it.
Embarrassingly, I don't feel I'm familiar enough with maiden to judge them (It's a sin, I know)
No.3438
>>3437I chose The Number of the Beast because it has the most consistency across all the tracks. To me, that is what makes a "flawless" album. Personally? I like their self-titled with Paul Di'Anno better but it is nowhere as objectively good as Number of the Beast. Same with Master of Reality, I prefer Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage to that one.
No.3440
>>3436Looking at the rust in peace track listing, I agree. (Even Dawn patrol)
>>3435Southern trendkill, Yes, in my opinion. I feel it's very consistent.
Superjoint- I'm having trouble deciding which one I liked more. I have to get a refresher on 'A lethal dose'.

>>3446I consider AIC metal. I also consider Down metal. I suppose this is a matter of opinion. Do you consider Black Sabbath metal or rock?

>>3446>>3447AIC isn't metal dude. Down is though, especially their latest album.
No.3470
>>3469Yes, I bought Down Iv pt.1 and 2 and I prefer the 2nd one.
To each his own. I can understand Nirvana, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, smashing pumpkins being considered Alt. Rock (which is kind of a dumb label) but if anything the AIC albums are pretty fucking metal. (With the exception of unplugged and a few songs)
No.3479
>>3470>but if anything the AIC albums are pretty fucking metal.Compared to Nirvana and all the others, maybe. But compared to metal bands, they just aren't metal.

Sometimes I lose sleep wondering if Tyr will ever be this good again
No.3549
>>3514Did they ever tour with Nile? How the hell did they get Kollias behind the kit for their latest?
He adds nothing to the album.
No.3550
No.3554
>>3549I'm not sure but it's tough to put any of that pressure on him. I'm confident George was doing his part as a session musician but lately a lot of Tyr songs have been a kind of standard-issue folk metal sound that misses out on the proggish stuff that gave them a signature tone. I even thought Valkyrja was an improvement over Thrym in that regard; Heri is still writing certain songs to become singles and have mass appeal but the ones that would normally be "fillers" stand out because of that.
No.3555
>>3553I can see where you're coming from but I think 'I ain't superstitious' ruins the flow of the album. If I go look at the Rust in peace track listing, I think it's perfect.

>>3555I understand, I do like rust in peace better, but since someone already posted that I posted the third best Megadeth album. Now the next best after Rust in Peace is Countdown To Extinction.

No.3594
>>3559This is a weird situation where I really wish I could agree with you, but the album really suffers from too many boring tracks.
>What Color is Death>God Machine>Jezebel>Finger Paintings of the Insane>The Mortician's FlameI just skip them whenever I listen, but they're so jarringly against how unique the rest of the sound of the album is for me I can't stand them. They just sound like shitty thrash
No.3596
>>3594Jezebel and Morticians Flame are some of my favorite songs on that album.
No.3597
>>3594I'll agree with God Machine, but the rest of the tracks, except for Dr Seuss is Dead, are pretty solid.

I always preferred Down II over NOLA.
