Overall, Vengeance Rising sounds exactly like a cliché satanic Metal band with inverted lyrics. "Human Sacrifice" is a bit of a head-scratcher, with like "Receive Him", "Salvation", and "He Is God", sounding like Christian parodies of Napalm Death's briefest songs, except sincere attempts at that style.
Roger Martinez's vocal performance is excitable and not without its charms and Larry Farkas is a capable lead guitarist. Most of the songs aren't notable with a couple exceptions such as the title track's moderately hooky chorus and solid tunes like "Fatal Delay" and "White Throne". There's a lot of faceless, goofy tunes like the aforementioned pseudo-grind and goofier tracks like "Mulligan Stew", and "I Love Hating Evil". Vengeance Rising might sound brutal for a Christian Metal band, but with contemporaries like Believer, Seventh Angel, Incubus/Opprobrium, The Crucified and Deliverance, who needs 'em? By secular standards, Vengeance Rising just passes muster.
