Coven - Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls
More Psychedelic Rock than Metal, but sure did help start the genre of metal
Venom - Black Metal
Black Metal/Thrash Metal, more on the Thrash side, but did inspire the Black Metal genre, and deserves the mention
Pantera - Far Beyond Driven
Groove Metal, it's fucking Pantera, nothing really much to say
Church Of Misery - Master of Brutality
Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal, the Nips sure know how to make some fucking slow, dirty metal
Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales
Thrash/Death/Black Metal, it's hard to say what genre it is, since it influenced all those genres, but it's a fucking staple in Heavy Metal and should be included
Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Black Metal, personally, it's where Bathory really peaked in their music
Acid Bath - When the Kite String Pops
Sludge Metal, that classic NOLA sludge metal
Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Heavy Metal, not really as popular as Master of Reality, Paranoid, or even Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, it's still a great fucking album, and a must listen
Down - NOLA
Sludge Metal, I may get some shit for this, but it's a great fucking album, especially if you like Sludge or Stoner in general
Crowbar - Crowbar
Sludge Metal, another great fucking NOLA sludge album, again, a must listen to if you're into Sludge
Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus
Doom Metal, a classic, Saint Vitus is one of the pioneers of Doom, it should be a must listen if you enjoy Doom Metal
That's about it, I may have listed some from other's list, but I guess that validates their spot on the list.
