Is that a misnomer? Best singer or best vocalist? Because the best vocalist would have to be pretty versatile doing both clean singing and harsh vocals IMO.

Not OP, but I think that a better question would be "who is your favorite vocalist" because it's impossible to pick an objectively "best" vocalist.

I have to say that King Diamond has to be my favorite vocalist. He sounds amazing in any key, and he's just so unmistakably unique. Even compared to other vocalists who use a falsetto, I've never mistaken anyone else for him. Plus he's just so charismatic.

Spell from Noenum is probably my favorite for rough vocals. He reminds me of the wind whipping through the trees and hills on a cold night.
