Does the lyrical content of a song matter at all to you? I know some people just completely view the voice as another instrument and disregard lyrics entirely.

As for myself, I find it hard to listen to music that seriously promotes something that I'm opposed to (NS black metal, Christian stuff, etc), though I really don't think that there's a lyrical theme that would be enough to attract me to an artist or band.

It depends on what they sing about and how well I can understand the lyrics. Like with slam they can sing about anything and I wouldn't care but with regular death or something, if its a band I understand then it does matter to a point.

I like napalm death's music. Based on the song titles I used to think that yeah, they are probably quite left-leaning. Then I read an interview with Barney, a part about the inspiration behind the lyrics, to be precise, and all the way through I was thinking "what the fuck nigger, this is a load of bullshit".

I still like the music but it now gives me a bad feeling in my gut.
