Maybe metalcore fans and shit, saying how those bands masterfully integrate heaviness and melody, which is bullshit. Every damned song is just (arguably) heavy verses + melodic gay choruses.

I think if you compare Burzum to all the other bands above. You see a big difference. Varg was experimenting with some major shit. The other bands took an already established sound and built on it. Even though Varg was inspired by Bathory and what not. He cooked up something new which hasn't been copied well to date. (except for Filosofem, That album's been plagiarized to death)

Even though I love the band, I have to say Dream Theater. The average fan is an annoying retarded nerd.

There is a band, so bad and so annoying, called Varg. They started with mediocre pagan metal with stupid lyrics, but at least that was fun if you were really drunk. But then they degenerated to a rammstein-meets-metalcore-meets-antifa-meets-pseudopagan something.

And the fans, who still follow them and hype them all the way, are the most retarded faggots Ive ever seen. They sometimes seem to be the greater faggots compared to hipsters and the actual band.

In the death metal scene I'd have to say Cannibal Corpse. The fans range from oldschool metalheads to complete faggot liberals with dyed hair. CC's chorus riffs/lyrics are generally sing along songs so they attract all walks of life. Don't get me wrong, I love Eaten Back To Life and even Tomb but CC are shit overall. Maybe if they wouldn't have gotten all popular in the early 90's they wouldn't have turned into such cucks.

I know it's just superficiality and signalling in action, but it strikes me funny that the genres that are pretty shallow to begin with attract people that wholeheartedly adopt the traits of their chosen genre; whereas deeper genres get overlooked.

I suppose it's just the amount of effort it takes. To do black metal proper, you have to know it's history; to be mallcore, you have to ride in mom's minivan for just fifteen minutes a day.

If you don't like the idea of Rob Zombie but replacing him with a gothy anime schoolgirl, then yes, you would consider it shit.
