ITT: Your favourite album of 2015.

Mgła is overally my favourite band, and this album doesn't dissapoint. They always write rather simple songs, with just a few riffs, and amazing lyrics. The only downside to this album is Exercises in futility III in my opinion. The only mediocre song here, all the others are amazing.

Other than that, I'd have to say that Tribulation's Children of the Night and Ghost's Meliora were also incredible albums.

What cought your attention this year?

The new album for A Forest of Stars is good, despite of play psychedelic black metal.

7,5, in my opinion.

This is good, very good.

Several albums to choose from, but so far the closest is this album.

This album reminds me a lot of graveland and bathory and as an additional bonus it also have very good lyrics.

The new album for Bio-Cancer is good too, despite being somewhat superficial, let's say.

Well 2015 isn't over yet, but I don't know of any albums yet to be released that I'm looking forward to. So I'll post a few of my contenders for album of the year so far.

First is Autumn Eternal from Panopticon. I actually like this one a bit more than his previous album, Roads to the North. With Autumn Eternal, the "folkiness" of his music becomes less of a novelty, and it's more smoothly integrated into the music. Probably my favorite Panopticon release to date.

Second is Meliora from Ghost. I already made a post about this album here >>5270 but suffice to say, this album is their best yet.

This third album, Abyss from Chelsea Wolfe, isn't a metal album per se, but I would argue that a couple of songs on it might qualify as metal. Regardless it's a great rock album. Very dark and moody. I'd highly suggest any metal fans listen to it.

I'm going to have to agree with He Who Consorts with Menfolk, primarily because I haven't listened to much new this year. Lyrically I like EiF V most of all, but it's also got the least interesting riffs. It's still a hell of a 45 minute ride all up, though.

Meliora was initially entertaining, but I find myself going back to it very rarely. Certainly it's a well put-together album, and there are a couple of standout tracks, but overall it didn't drag me in.

Not necessarily album of the year but good solid albums for this year.

Cruciamentum- Charnal passages

Blood Incantation- interdimensional extinction.

I also love the Mgla album but haven't picked it up yet.

You 'aving a giggle with them squiggles?

What was your standout from Charnal Passages?

I like the thick reverb laden production. Real doomy. It feels like you're wondering aimlessly, lost in an alternate dimension or something. I can't point out a particular song but these albums are a hell of a lot better than the standard djent deathcore that seems to surround us as of late.

That Blood Incantation EP is god-tier, thx for bringing it here.
