this is the album i heard that made me think i should make a thread looking for more suggestions. love this guitarist, i'm amazed that they're not more popular.

it'd be cool if we could have a thread where we avoid the obvious classics.

the last few years i've mostly been listening to newer atmospheric metal and i never really made an effort to explore the earlier bands other than the famous ones. i'm trying to break that trend. but older death, thrash, etc would be of interest to me as well. that's all i'm going to post for today.

I just heard about this album through a DMU article.

There's also a lot of other influence in some of the songs and various other instruments. I've listened to this all the way through about 4 times since I first heard it a couple days ago. It's awesome.

I don't really know that much about DSBM but I always thought the sound was based off of Burzum and Forgotten Woods.
