So while I'm unaware of any major internal metal scandals, as I only have gotten my metal recs off soundcloud, mp3 sites like beemp3, and podcasts for the last decade or so, I've found one magazine that appears highly compromised.
Metal Injection appears to function a lot like Polygon, in that they make clickbait titles with band names or something else related, and then the articles are about nothing related to music at all, just shitting things up with bloo bloo muhsoggyknees and taking a handful of faecesbook or twatter posts and claiming it represents the entire scene, stay away, full of angry reactionary shitlords.
Have I got that right? It sounds pretty right. Is this what ya'll have been dealing with in your scene? I've really only followed the music itself, not the culture. More of a street punk guy, but I lost faith in any music scene after seeing punk die with a pussy whimper and get so co-opted by the drum circlers.
