would it be possible to activate pdf upload?
I often try to answer questions where the easiest solution would be to include an article/book that answers it perfectly.

If anon says he can upload PDF's to help others, I second his suggestion.

this would be really cool, I understand that it's already supported on 8chan and I'd also kind of like to see .xcf or .svg support.

pls give .exe support

.jpeg wasn't enough to infect you all

Use plain text nigga.
Nothing is as insecure as PDF and as unreadable.

>pdf
>unreadable
literally the fileformat created specifically to look the same everywhere, and used in professional printing.

you can infect people with jpg too, pdf is not inherently less secure.
In doubt just deactivate the scripting features of your pdf viewer.

Done.

Was worrying about malicious PDFs, but then I realized that any anon could externally link to any malicious file, so there's no point in keeping it disabled...

:^)

thanks you very much.

>pdf is not inherently less secure
Actually it has support for scripting, fonts (great buffer overflow opportunity), and fucking SWF files. I'd say it's inherently one of the least secure formats there is.
>you can infect people with jpg too
Compare the number of exploits involving JPEGs (.jpg.exe doesn't count) to the number of PDF exploits and then you tell me JPG is even risky

SVG support would be pretty swaggy
XCF might be over-the-top

What if board owners could define their own arbitrary list of allowed extensions?

"php"
Probably a vector for exploiting the whole site.
