This, proprietary software is detrimental to your freedom, and everyone who uses it should be... removed.

I think that we should at least specify in the board rules that free software is preferred to proprietary software. I know that board owner runs Windows, but still.

fuck off macfag :^)

ab2704 No.53

I would like to see prominent warnings for anti-free software shitposting. It makes the board look like it welcomes macfags and winfags instead of begrudgingly letting them stay.
but definitely no heavily moderated hugbox

Well, here's the thing: non-free software is objectively bad for you.

man I (as a freetard myself) really wish it was just that. simply other people liking other things I don't like. I wish I would just be discussing emacs vs. vim or something. I would still have a strong opinion about that but in the end at least if people choose vim despite me telling them why I like emacs better they don't get fucked in the ass and support wrongdoings and injustice by using vim.

still, I certainly understand a hugbox is no solution (and the OP was of course more or less a joke). In my opinion it's just important that people know about the free software movement and understand what key advantages free software inherently has over proprietary software. what they use in the end should be completely their own decision.
