>>4239>>4279First of all, sorry for double posting.
>I forgive you for not browsing as often and for as long as I haveThank you great overlord for forgiving us that decide not to go to specific threads as often as you do. I was worried for a second.
> A mix of vidya and non-vidya balances each other out. If you're upset about the lack of videogames in one, make more vidya webms and post them there. You seem not to understand how OC works. Sturgeon Law's for original content is in effect and as strong as ever in imageboards as fast as /v/.
Webm threads are just a direct result of halfchan enabling the format out of the sudden after years of only permitting static pictures formats and animated gifs.
Other OC related threads have always been about
sharing what you found around the web or the board itself. Take reacting pics threads for example, they gather people wanting to share their finds (usually stumbled upon by regular browsing) and saving other people's. When done in /v/, they are about vidya-related reaction images. If there is new content
produced specifically for the thread, it's usually lot less than the saved-beforehand material.
With webms it happened the other way. Since it was a new format for many, lots jumped to make vidya webms and share them en masse, which is ok for an initial seed of new content (even though I can safely assure lots of it were just converted gifs). But as time passed, new vidya content grew thin and people were still enjoying playing with the new format (more so in full/v/ since it supports audio), then the theme of the threads became just making webms for the sake of it. You even acknowledge it yourself.
Thing is, OC isn't supposed to, nor anyone expects it to, be produced en masse. Good OC is seen every far and between each other. You want to keep making webms? Nice, by all means do it. But don't take /v/ as your defacto tumblr to publish your new and shiny funny webm.
You complain of how slow a "vidya only webm thread" is. Well tough shit, that doesn't give you any right to tell people that discuss videogames in the videogame board to make original content or shut up and deal with it.
>Everyone who complains about webm threads having too much or too little of what they like or don't like are just too lazy to make content they like themselves.>As I said before. Make the content you want to be seen on there or shut upI don't have to make original content webms out of my ass just to justify the existance of your loved thread because it is off-topic otherwise. I rather save a worthy webm when I see it, be it in a specialized thread or elsewhere.
