Since it is unavoidable due to the increasing number of newfags and incoming halfchan cancer , we are eventually we gonna have to deal with this shit so here's my suggestion ; either give it the gamergate treatment which means only one active e-celeb thread at a time or take a page out of the gamergate book when their board was overflooded with e-celeb bullshit and create a sticky where anyone who wants to cream their panties over a youtuber or other celeb can do so
The board is about videogames first and foremost
Technically e-celebs is vidya related but only tangentially and not to the point where the board won't be able to function without 5 threads about gamegrumps ,dsp , avgn ,tgwtg and what have you.

I've been monitoring posts here on /metav/ for some time and, from what I see, a lot of posters are in favor of a social-darwinist-esque approach to what can be discussed on /v/.
Simply put: If the users want it discussed, and it manages to repel any and all "self-moderating" attempts at stopping it (I.E.: Shitposting, dubspam, etc.), then it'll be allowed.
Of course, now we're talking about e-celeb threads, which some people equate as a "cuckchan" thing, or a "newfag" thing, and that something "No True /v/irgin" would talk about.
I think it's important to let anything related to video games and game culture to be discussed and posted on /v/. That "no true /v/irgin" attitude will only cause strife, and shitposting, and trolling, and eventual degradation of the entire board.
We don't need /v/ to become a hivemind.

>>3127>We don't need /v/ to become a hivemind. That has nothing to do with being a hivemind. Hivemind = consensus on opinion. Hivemind =/= We should allow offtopic bullshit like e-celeb threads that have absolutely nothing to do with videogames so we don't become a "hivemind".
Seriously what the fuck did you think hivemind meant when you wrote it?

>We should allow offtopic bullshit like e-celeb threads that have absolutely nothing to do with videogamesThis is what you think. Your statement does not equate to objective fact in the slightest.
You want /v/ to reflect your thoughts and opinion. Therefore, you and everyone like you who wants /v/ to act like a hivemind.
