 No.15

The essential frame of mind to crossing the dimensional barrier is to accept that you are shedding your old body and brain in favor of another that exists in the dimension you are going to.

So, are you leaving a dimension behind with a soulless body? Are you dead in the old world? And when you reach the new one, will you be a different person?

Of course you will. You'll be someone else.

So to cross dimensions, you need to accept your own death.

Only… that's not nearly as hard as you might think. Today I found the trick. See, the trick is, you cross dimensions constantly. It's what we call "time". Every dimension is a single state (all things are possible), and you are hurtling from one to the next.

Stretched out behind you are infinite corpses, and in front of you infinite new people to become. You do it all the time. You are dead and reborn, constantly… so don't get too hung up on this "identity" illusion…

That's the first fear dealt with. Another fear awaits.

 No.16

The second fear is that if you were to take control of the helm and steer yourself across dimensions into a radically different world, one that dramatically differs from the one that you would have organically arrived at, you might be going there alone.

The "observers" you share this world with might not follow you. You might be leaving to enter a world where you are the only person with a soul.

All things are possible.

 No.17

Now, you could theoretically try to steer the course of this world that is seemingly careening through the dimensions guided by an unseen force, or just by sheer random momentum… but instinct says that's a bit tough. Whatever force it is that keeps things moving the way they are, you'd be fighting it… and no matter how "strong" you think you are, you're just one person.

Well basically… but let's no digress along those lines for now…

Another way to approach this is to just worry about your own perspective and none other. Take the leap, risk abandoning everyone in the universe.

That's easier, but again, more terrifying.

Perhaps the path to acceptance is to re-model your idea of who "the observer" or your "soul" truly is. All things are possible… so maybe we all exist in every reality all the time simultaneously. Time is an illusion and only exists here anyway… why would we limit ourselves to a single linear narrative?

The echoes of "all things are possible" in my mind tell me that I'm wrong, but that this is a model that's relatively safe to work with… hmm…

 No.18

My instinct/guides/whatever really freaked out when I brushed off the multiple-man stuff … but I have other things to do right now so let's just do the quick notes:

- Your mind is not a single identity but a variety of thinking components working in partnership.

- There isn't so much a "you" as there is an emergent behavior based on the memories recorded throughout the nervous system.

- Within each system are sub-systems, and sub-sub-systems, and so on.

- Each would consider itself an "individual" as well, but none are "whole"… they are always made up of parts.

- The lower parts control the top, and the aggregate membrane that considers itself "a person" can do very little to influence what is happening underneath it.

- See also conscious/subconscious, mind vs cellular function, etc…

- But there is obviously SOME bleed-over… the trick has always been in improving that communication between layers.

- See meditation, hypnosis, etc…

This has something to do with the subject at hand… it is intimately related… can't quite work out how…

Done for now, but if there are other channels out there tuning into this same vibe, would love your input / questions… will keep the thread open until it disappears…

the "self", I think, is simply a term characterizing the observable manifestation of different psychological constructs (the so-called "complexes" in the original meaning), which interact with each other constantly, the Ego being simply a self-aware observer made up of a number of abovementioned constructs that came together to form a self-aware "being". The Ego is never static, nor is it strictly separate from the rest of the "self" - I kind of share the freudian view on this.
