>tfw this is all it took to take out the greatest soldier who ever lived… founder of Outer Heaven, MSF, and Diamond Dogs and successor to The Boss. Burned to a crisp using an aerosol flamethrower in a nondescript, anticlimactic bunker in "Zanzibar Land".
I know it was all retconned later in MGS4 with nanomachines, but for a good portion of the games, this is how Big Boss's saga ended, in an obscure 8-bit game for an obscure computer sold only in Japan during the late 80's. How does that sit with you /mgs/?

In all its glory. This is how Big Boss "dies."
This is good, isn't it?
This is what Snake would spend 3 more games grieving over, with Gray Fox and all.
No.789
Big Boss died the way he lived. He was a madman obssesed with war and died a fitting death. The fact that he didn't die a "glorious death" makes it even more tragic but this is to show how low he had fallen.

Being on fire fucking hurts.

Does anyone still remember what people thought of Big boss pre MGS3?
Solid Snake would have known it the best. The Big boss of MG1 and MG2 seemed like a different person compared to the more 'heroic' one in MGS3 and PW.
Hope that by the end of MGSV, Big Boss will turn into the more deplorable man that he was known to be.

>>810Kojima got his inspiration from watching Breaking Bad, so expect to see some parallels.

>>814Intriguing. If he's able to show Big boss' fall even half as well as BrBa shows Walt's transformation to Heisenberg then it's going amazing
more so than I previously thought No.820
>>810I doubt he will do that. At most he would turn Big Boss into a "misunderstood good guy" The retconned Big Boss most people know from MGS3 and 4 is just a Solid Snake clone.
Also there were no La-li-lu-le-lo, no nanomachines and no other bullshit around MG1&2. So sadly if Kojima ever remakes those games, they aren't going to be loyal to the original plot. And i don't think this is going to be an improvement.
No.824
>>820I don't think it's even possible to stay loyal to the originals because of the completely different gameplay mechanics.

>>824MG1 and MG2 remake on Fox engine when?
No.864
>>863Depends on Kojima and his willingness to share the fox engine
No.865
>>864He's ok with someone remaking MGS1 with the Fox engine and PES 2014 and 2015 were made with the FOX engine so as far as sharing the engine is concerned, that isn't an issue.
