What is midpol's opinion about WTO?
Personally I think that it is cancer and its only purpose is for the acquisition of cheap labor by multinationals. What say you?

The third world is getting some benefits from this but this is because they were already shitty. But you are correct OP the main beneficiaries seem to be the corporations. It is all about cheap labor.

Over here in the Netherlands, we don't have problem of losing call center jobs like in America but overall West losing Jobs and they are all going to the 3rd world countries

Its a shame he didn't get elected because of the fucked up two party system. Wasted 8 years with Slick Willie and then the two cluster-fucks of Bush and Obama. There is a big problem in USA when it comes to making really bold reforms

The corporates have it in the bag. What Ross Perot suggested was actually light reforms. All he wanted to do was save American manufacturing. He wasn't really all that anti free trade but he corporates wouldn't even have that

 No.134

WTO along with enforcement of International Labor standards might have been a good thing. The problem we see right now is that Corporates are just using the WTO to go shopping for cheap labor.

International trade should go hand in hand with international labor rights. Otherwise you see the mess that we are seeing right now

If we can't have labor standard then i see no point in having the WTO. This has been a nightmare for workers rights. You can't even get a decent fucking minimum wage now

 No.140

To be fair though, raising the minimum wage is usually useless because when that happens, the prices just increase.

 No.388

I know nothing about this. Does anyone have any good sources on reading up on this orginization?
