So since we actually have a few people coming by now, I gotta ask:
Since all political opinions are allowed here, what is your political alignment? Do you even have one?

I would say I am leaning more and more right wing. I believe in strong family values, knowledge over pandering to whiny groups of people who only ruin society through their demands (many unions, feminists, etc). I think that we must let the free market system do its job but at the same time have some regulations but not too many that it restricts growth. If I had to choose between Hayek and Keynes, I'd go Hayek.

I'd call myself Libertarian but to be honest politics is more of a hobby intrests than an actual thing to me.
Maybe someone can identify me?
>Believe in free market with a resoruce based economy.
>Want Corporations replaced with Cooperatives and then they're left to compete with other Cooperatives
>Non interventionist
>Believe in a welfare state.

No.274
I've gone further left since last I took it.
No.296
Im a absolute centrist neither political group hold my complete beliefs. Imo the left is a party of empty suits and panders that assume the opinons of whatever popular public soical ideal that arises. The right is a group of regressive religous zealots that care for nothing but imposing their fairy tales on the whole country through gov't control.

So, disregarding the acceptance of the fallacious 1-dimensional political spectrum, I have to ask. Isn't the "centerist" just a blank canvass that reflects whichever side is more beneficial for them at the time?
>For you, mister, I sure can be a little left of center. Now about that fancy dinner you talked about…
Or, are you just painting either side as negatives and "black and white" extremes because you have no other reason to hold the convictions you do on their own merit?

On that note, how hard is it to keep the government small enough to ensure enforcement of contracts, defense of the realm and a baseline safety net re. firefighting, policing, education and unemployment/retirement?
If Scandinavia wasn't the goddamn ATM of the Middle-East, it would be perfect. I'm starting to think that the real solution isn't found in left or right but in having a legislative body where each seat is backed by as few people as possible, ensuring that the electorate does not fall to the law of large numbers.
