Feels bad man.
Northern Michigan (Not just the UP, but the northern half of the mitten as well) is much more midwest-y than my area will ever be. I just want to live in a small town, own a few acres of land, and make my livelihood off my own homestead. Fugg

Funny you should mention that, it reminds me of a story that goes with this thread.
Me and some internet friends went on a road trip. One of them was from Los Angeles, so I was trying to show him that Missourah wasn't as bad as he thought.
Naturally I-70 is barren as fuck and we didn't have time to really stop any place.
Then we see a guy with a paper license plate.
>"Man I love America!"Then later going down I-70, some farmer had stacked a bunch hay bails to set up an American flag made out of swastikas.
>"Man, fuck America!"I don't even come across stuff like that. It all naturally happened when I was trying to show my friends the place.
Strangely enough, he loved Kansas of all places, despite there being absolutely nothing for miles upon miles, all because of how the buildings were arranged and the lack of hills.

Central Ohio reporting (although I'm actually living in Texas for the summer).
Growing up I always complained about Ohio being lame, but as time has gone on I've found we have a real good balance.
Columbus can be a fun city and there are some quality restaurants and such, and then you can also get out to the countryside, we have some land in the southern part of the state and have been getting back to our midwestern farmer roots, also plenty of space to shoot funs.
