 No.12

>nah bro, this isn't a pyramid scheme!
>pyramid schemes are illegal and we're still in business?
>would (Athlete name) be sponsoring us if it were illegal?

how did you guys come in contact with MLM? for me it was somebody who i haven't talked to in years sending me messages over facebook asking me to watch some verve energy drink video and how i can make as much money as the guy in the video who just sits on his ass and never lifts a finger

 No.14

Well I'm the guy that got to work for Colin ausfeld and interviewed at several mom companies that were made to seem like legitimate jobs.

>be me
>be working for the shitty temporary labor company known as Labor Works
>a few months pass
>be working in shitty crawl space job for minimum wage
>supervisor be offering me a job
>miss first appointment
>be offered another chance because me phone had issues
>be told to follow him to the local convention center
>mfw it's a private AmWay evangelist lecture

There's more, but I'm not really into telling the rest right now. Maybe later.

 No.16

>>15
what is amway anyways? i always hear about it

here's the second time:
>friend of mine who doesn't lift
>invites me to go workout with him
"what"
>go to this place
>he talks about how great it is and everything and how they have tea that burns off body fat
>walk in to this "gym" in a bad part of town
>just a bunch of herbalife shit everywhere
>thinking to myself "ffffffuuuuuck my friend took me to a trap"
>they give us the tea
>dude telling me how it burns fat off (i'm 8% body fat already)
>we flip some tires since they don't have any real weights
>we later drink some shake
>they're talking to us about how healthy it is and how cristiano ronaldo uses it

i don't get how these people can live with themselves. my friend was oblivious to the whole thing, he had no idea what MLM was and that herbalife was one.

You don't know?

They basically pioneered multi-level marketing schemes.

 No.19

what do they even sell?

>already kinda wise to MLM, since I watched my mom get sucked into it a few times
>sometime later, meet some cool folks
>quickly become friends
>they mention "their business" a few times
>ask what the business does
>"we sell travel"
>my spidey sense is tingling
>ask how many employees the company has
>"by now, probably several hundred thousand"
>bingo
>'oh, it's multilevel marketing'
>"well, yeah…"
>they never really push it though, and don't seem too fanatical, so idgaf, i figure they'll quit in a couple months
>time goes by, don't really hear much about it
>then they go to a "Momentum" conference
>complete radicalization, hardly seem like the same people
>while they used to mention God and Jesus on every other facebook post, now it's as if they praise and thank World Ventures instead for everything good in the world
>is this real life
>by now I know what's coming
>start reading up on WV, try to find out as much as possible
>read income disclosure, terms and agreements, articles and reports, the compensation plan, etc
>after a period of no contact, get a message I've been expecting
>one of them wants to meet up and show me something
>I'm not as prepared as I'd like to be, but I agree
>sincerely hoping I can turn this around and save my friends
>I don't hint that I'm familiar with the company, I just let her give the presentation from scratch
>notice how much her demeanor has changed, she can't even hold eye contact
>stumbling as she quickly recites a monologue she must have given a thousand times in the last few weeks
>when she's done, I reveal my power level
>talk about the wheat and chessboard problem, how WV makes almost all of its money from recruitment and not actual good or services, why they were banned in Norway, how the business model is inherently unsustainable and dependent on failure, how they try to suppress and censor opposition
>make it clear that I'm only going through this because I hate to see my friends walk off a cliff
>and if they can prove me wrong, they're always welcome to do so
>wrap it up, seemingly no hard feelings
>of course, this all has no effect
>"business" continues on just the same

And that was about the last they spoke to me.
