(actually the 20%ers are really cool peeps I've found even if they're not totally supportive of memes. If you find anything really good you're afraid of disappearing do drop it there!!!)
Minor addendum I forgot to add: Japan is REALLY FUCKIN' WEIRD
There's an assload of artists that only post on twitter. Japs treat twitter like a bbs/chan board with weird threading. This is the only time you should take anything off twitter. If there's no link in their profile, they likely don't have even a pixiv.
1a. How can I tell if a topic is pony related? Does it involve the staff, someone who works on the comic, or a fanartist's personal details? Go ahead and post it, then so long as it devolves back into pone at some point, keep on ponin'. ie talk of Faust's new projects, discussion of crashing IDW forums over their shitfest of a comic.
7a. "But y?" Because resaving jpgs for any reason is always a bad idea.
7b. "My picture is too large! It's a book scan!" Post the 900/1024/1280res version with a link to the original. http://imgsafe.org is the most reliable I've found. http://imgh.us is 2nd runner up with 16mb per image, but they don't have a good plan. Don't link images posted there onto comment sections! (i'd rec making accounts at both either way, way better alternative to bloatware sites like photobucket and imageshack)

Bug them to post here or on one of the approved sites instead should they return. Otherwise, look harder. DB is an absolute last resort. Also the very last place any pony-centric fora should wish for cross-pollination from. The only place more restrictive of conversation is The Round Stable.
