You can tweak it later, I think. There's some mask types/mask sigils that make them hang back and be less aggressive. Just wait until you start using Mock Melynx and one of your Shakalakas hits you with a felvine bomb while you're trying to land a GS charge/spirit combo/triple pound/etc. Repeatedly. Then you will know true anguish.

Furthermore, if you sheathe your weapons, they stop attacking unless they are enraged. It is one of his tips.

Also, once you get to HR capture missions start becoming more and more rare the further you advance.

I'm a big softie and tend to capture monsters over killing them. You're right, though the little gremlins always seem to get a few more blows in before they listen to my pings. I've had a couple accidental kills after putting them in the mock melynx mask.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's implied that they surgically dissect them to get the more difficult materials, hence why the guild sometimes gives you their extra plates and such when you cap.
