After a quick search, it seems like there are a lot of Android/iOS apps for virtual pets but most of them are more like Nintendogs or trying to emulate the keychain pets down to the graphics.
If Nintendo and the Pokemon Company release more games for mobile, they would likely make a killing if they made an app where you raise a Pokemon like a pet and have battles/contests online with other Pokefans.
Since we're talking about mobile gaming, you'd have to buy other Pokemon, but each basic Pokemon would like 99 cents. And items like potions would cost like a few pennies. Nintendo would be richer…

Frontier deviated too far from the point of Digimon being partners by having kids turn into Digimon.
Not gonna lie, it had decent monster girls like Ranamon and Fairymon.
Tamers is still by far the best of the series.
