/mtf/ is a board for trans girls. Everyone else is also welcome, but keep in mind that this board is primarily for discussion and advice regarding transition, although anything can be posted that relates to trans girls in some way. Hateful comments regarding trans people are not appreciated.

If you feel something doesn't belong here, you can report it, and I will try to look into it.

If you have a comment or question regarding the rules or settings, please comment in this thread.

Apparently if no one posts for a week the board gets available for claiming. I don't want that to happen considering what happened last time, so I will make a post here every week.

This is now a general thread, you can post whatever you want, as long as you follow the rules.

I bit the bullet and started using Discord. I found some trans specific communities. One server is so fast, there's always people talking throughout the day. The lack of privacy and mods butting in to thought police you is annoying but it's hard to argue with extreme loneliness.

Is someone able to dump their folder of hair inspo?

I am growing my hair out and have never had long hair before, starting to experiment with day-to-day wearing although am learning how much of a nuisance it can be with a super long fringe (my hair is like this pic although slightly thinner and straighter). Does anyone know of suitable femme styles for longer brown hair? Should I cut my fringe?

3bf76a  No.1350

I don't have hair inspo but I do have long hair (I just wear it like it is). There are three things I noticed:

1. Have to be carful of zippers. I got my hair stuck once and had to cut a bit off.

2. Careful when eating. Sometimes I take a bite and notice I am eating my hair.

3. Dead ends on the hair. These make it messier so you gotta have them removed or do it yourself.

As far as fem hair goes, I think braiding looks very nice with long hair and you can go a lot of different ways with it and it is also feminine coz the only men I see with braids are motor guys I think but they don't wash it so it has this dirty look soo if you have clean braided hair I think it is very nice and femme.

You can also do a ponytail I think it looks best if you do the ponytail high up your head and not low.

Does anybody have any tips on how to lose weight? Is there anything that can reduce my appetite? The only thing that helped me lose a lot of weight is what I would call the Sick Diet.

b499da  No.968

I think cocoa can help reduce appetite. Nuts are good snacks as long as they aren't salty oily peanuts.

b499da  No.969

Nuts are actually an awful snack. They're healthy but for losing weight they are terrible. If you look at the calorie information of almost any nuts you'll see that they are extremely calorie dense.

Cashews - 553 calories per 100 grams

Almonds - 576 calories per 100 grams

Walnuts - 654 calories per 100 grams

Hazelnuts - 628 calories per 100 grams

100 grams really isn't a lot of nuts. Its around a handful or a cup of them if you're looking to lose weight by reducing your caloric intake by 500 calories a day then nuts are a very counter intuitive snack

They have other health benefits but just for losing weight they aren't very good

Stop perpetuating this tired advice. The only reason eating at a "caloric deficit" works is because you're naturally eating less carbohydrate. Your actual "maintenance " calories depends on the actual diet itself (every single food item in your diet plays a role), and not even just the macronutrient ratio, which is also conveniently neglected by "cal in vs cal out". Further, the implied purpose of "diets", as society understands it, is that a "diet" is something temporary, something you just have to deal with in the short term to make you look gud, but after that you can safely eat all the same garbage you were eating before. But no, a diet is something you should enjoy (to enable you to positively reinforce said diet). It's a set of foods that you can comfortably live with for the rest of your life, and will automatically bring you down to the associated "maintenance" body weight. You can't just "eat less" garbage, because as people understand it, they can stop their "diet" when they reach their target weight which will inevitably cause their weight to rebound.

Pretty much the only good piece of advice in that post is to drink more water and coffee/tea.

nuts are fine hon

yes there are better snacks (anything with huge fiber e.g. fibrous vegetables and legumes), but there are much worse snacks (anything with carbs and little to no fiber e.g. crackers, cookies, granola bars doused in corn syrup, fruit (yes unless you eat the fucking rind of a banana or orange there's virtually no fiber at all)...

These things spike your insulin and devastate your body's fat metabolism. This is because insulin is anabolic (promotes tissue growth (like fat tissue)) and the body prefers burning the readily available glucose in your blood, as opposed to burning your existing fat tissue. Putting your body in a chronic condition of elevated insulin levels gives you insulin resistance, makes you crave carbohydrates as your primary energy source, and makes you obese. The proliferation of subsidized corn in the US makes it super cheap to create all kPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

So, semester break is coming soon and I want to buy myself some nice clothes.

When you bought your first clothes, did you order them online or did you go straight into a department store and went for the girls section?

I mean, I'd do it, although it may look a bit embarrassing - a slim guy buying lots of clothes for slim girls, get it?

Also, feel free to post any clothing related things in here. =)

Goodwill and value village are great, when I first started out I got all my women's clothes from there. Then I moved on to cheap chains like Stitches and Urban Planet. (Most of my jeans are still from there) Now I shop like a suburban mom and get a lot of my clothes from Costco or Sears (RIP) or Jc Penny. Sometimes I'll just walk around the mall and look for stuff too if I'm with my friends.

Shopping online was always weird to me and I have bought stuff from Forever 21's online store before but I get really nervous every time because I can't try it on.

Lately I've become obsessed with cowl neck sweaters, my mom bought me one like in the first pic and I really liked it. So I ended up buying ones like pic 2 and 3 then I even got bold and bought an off shoulder sweater like last pic.

In the States and Canada there's a thing called informed consent where you can say yes I understand the risk now give me hrt and they give it to you, but I don't know how that would work for an immigrant or refugee who is probably without insurance.

In most of Europe that does not exist afaik so you would have to go through years of waiting lists...

This is common for trans girls. They often have hormones levels that are closer to females.

>I'll leave this country this year or in 2019 but It'll be hard for an immigrant to get HRT right ?

Probably not. You don't have to be a citizen to get health care. It depends on the country. It's hard in some western countries even for citizens. Go to a country with informed consent clinics.

DIY hormones, bad idea ?

ec51b5  No.1176

All sorts of unintended side effects can happen self-medicating hormones. I'd advise against it.

1d6284  No.1179

t. people who know nothing about HRT

self-medicating HRT is fine. most of my friends are trans and like, half of them self medicate.

if you self medicate, in most countries, it'll actually be easier to go legit, because you can skip gatekeeping

bloodwork -helps- but you can easily get a blood test for like, i think it's 100$ if you're not covered? every year or six months.

but it's really a 1 in 100 chance you get any dangerous side effects from HRT. it's the exact same shit doctors prescribe you.

you can buy hormones on ww.qhi.co.uk. if you need help with dosages, i recommend asking around on 4chan's /lgbt/ or just googling it.

ec51b5  No.1182

So, say if I buy this off the qhi site, I know I need Spiro for anti-androgen, but to go with it would you recommend premarin or progynova,

since those are the 3 listed and I'm guessing its spiro + only one of the estrogens, rather than one person needing all 3

1d6284  No.1187

i'm fairly certain nobody still uses premarin. the choice is usually between estrofem / progynova for estrogen. i'd recommend going with progynova since it's like a quarter of the price.

what i did was i started on 2mg, went up to 4mg after 2 months, then 6mg after 6 months.

then for antiandrogens you have bicalutamide / spironolactone / cyproterone

bicalutamide is cheap but it doesn't reduce your libido, and, personally, i didn't experience any mental feminization on it, so i definitely don't recommend it. if you do take it, you'll want 25mg (half a pill) to 50mg a day

cyproterone is very potent and can permanently reduce your ability to produce testosterone, and functions as a progesterone (thus aiding breast development), but it can cause depression. you start at 50mg, but eventually most people can reduce to 25mg.

both bicalutamide and cyproterone have a low risk of liver complications, so it's *safest* to get blood tests after maybe 3-6 months.

i don't have any experience with spironolactone, but it's a diuretic, so you'll have to pee a lot (and drink a ton), and at higher doses there are risks of incontinence. you'll also not want to eat excessive amounts of potassium, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue unless you eat potassium salt every meal

5d92ce  No.1189

>it's a diuretic, so you'll have to pee a lot (and drink a ton)

id like to know a bit more about HRT cause of recent stuff i realized i don't know as much as i thought and when i look it up all i find are sights that speak gibberish or are just trying to sell pills that don't have a description on what they're for. could you guys tell me some stuff about the stages of HRT and give me links to reliable places that give information. i also have some question

1. can i quit HRT any time or is there a point of no return and if there is a point of no return when is that.

2. if i did start HRT and quit would my body go pack to normal.

3.are there any requirements to get HRT in the usa and if so what are those.

4.are there any necessary surgeries with all of this.

5.were could i acsess these drugs and what type of drugs are there.

6. is there a way to increase feminine features with out HRT drugs.

7. are there any none HRT drugs that could act like a replacement.

8. what is the price range for HRT drugs

thats about all but if there are things i didn't ask about that you think i should know please tell me.

708e30  No.993

Read through >>595 to know about what HRT is like.

>1. can i quit HRT any time or is there a point of no return and if there is a point of no return when is that.

Obviously nobody can make you keep taking HRT. After a while there will be some irreversible effects, such as breast growth. The real point of no return would be an orchiectomy. After that, you are bound to take at least one sex hormone, otherwise your health will suffer.

>2. if i did start HRT and quit would my body go pack to normal.

Mostly yes, but some effects will remain.

>3.are there any requirements to get HRT in the usa and if so what are those.

It's easy to get HRT in the USA. Go to an informed consent clinic. Avoid psychologists. If you are below 18, you may be able to get it with your parent's consent. You need to pass a blood test. This will determine whether you are healthy enough for HRT. You may also be given a minor evaluation, but they're really just checking to make sure you're not crazy. It's not gatekeeping.

>4.are there any necessary surgeries with all of this.

You will want to get an orchiectomy within a few years after starting HRT. Spironolactone isn't healthy for prolonged usage. Regardless, you will want an orchiectomy.

>5.were could i acsess these drugs and what type of drugs are there.

An informed consent clinic. You will get Estradiol(artificial estrogen) and Spironolactone(antiandrogen/testosterone blocker). People with allergies or out of the USA sometimes get different ones. Your dosage will start low and gradually increase.

>6. is there a way to increase feminine features with out HRT drugs.

You can get a head start in electrolysis, fashion, and voice training, but HRT is essential for a complete transition. It also makes everything easier. Your facial hair will stop developing, your voice will get higher(although not high enough to get by without training), and you will act/think more like a woman, which allows you to live like one morePost too long. So since getting HRT is basically impossible in my small and really close-minded country. Did anyone have any success with some herbal or any other alternatives?

Having a lot of soy is mostly only toxic if it isn't fermented. I've bathed in soymilk, which really helped softening my skin. Doesn't castration cause serious issues? I read somewhere that you can't transition after that.

I've used hypnosis, massages and some herbs

and also read a lot of sites online.

Here's a small list of herbs for breast growth;

-Fenugreek seed extract

-Saw palmetto berry

-Fennel seed

-Mexican wild yam root

-Damiana leaf

-Hops flower

-Pacific kelp

-Dong quai root

-Mothers wort herb

-Black cohosh root extract

-Oat grass

-Blessed thistle herb

There was a massage which I keep doing at night for bigger breasts in which the breasts are rubbed from the top of the breasts in a circle inwards and then the circle continues around each breast.

I also tried a recipe which said to use organic honey with turmeric and onions in a mix but this causes temporary coloration and odor so be aware of that if you try it.

I noticed that the sides of my hips were kinda flat so I started moving the legs to the sides regularly. I also do stomach exercises. All of this helped me maybe some of it can help you.

Accidentally hit reply lel I'm on my tablet

I'm castrated/had an orchiectomy. The main downsides to it are if you aren't taking estrogen as well as lacking a primary sex hormone causes oesteoperosis as well as a bunch of other problems. But since I'm on HRT as well it's fine.

Also if by "transition" you mean have SRS then no you can still have SRS after an orchiectomy. The problem comes from the fact that they use scrotal skin in constructing a new labia. If you keep the scrotum then the skin is still there for that

(Personally I'm not going to have SRS so I had the scrotum revmoved as well as I find it disgusting looking)
