Value is subjectively created, even dollar value, traceable all the way back to creation of the smallest of pieces of product.

We've all made a lot of things in our lives, do if they're valuble or not to one person or another will always change.

I feel sorry for him. He DOES have a lot of talent(s), but he'll likely never get to use them. He's like JK Rowling now. No matter what he creates in the future, everyone will compare it to his first work and find it laughing. He won't even be able to make things anonymously because this is the Information Age and people will still find out. It's a shame, because he probably has lots of other ideas unrelated to Undertale that won't ever come to fruition.

He'll either spend the rest of his life putting out more Undertale content, or he'll go broke and have to get a normal job.

I don't think anyone ever thinks they're going to be wildly popular. It's not even something that could have been predicted. It's all a matter of incredible luck and circumstance, less often about objective greatness, a product of the zeitgeist of the current time and just happening to match up perfectly with what everyone didn't even realize they desperately wanted.

If Undertale had been released a different year, a different month, maybe even a different DAY, it might have all turned out different. Butterfly effect and all that. It still would have been good, still would have been loved, but would it have been like THIS? Of course not. This is a rare perfect-storm of happenstance that just snowballed out of control.
