What about afx/rdj? Is he really any better than them in that regard? For all the reverence he receives, his career has been quite uneven and most of his releases arguably hit-and-miss in spite of apparent general consensus.

Maybe. I don't know. Autechre is still some of the most alien music I've listened to.

I don't think Richard wouldn't have blown up in the same way, but he would probably have gotten a small cult following. His music is at least extremely varied. He's got complete turds in his discog, but also genuinely beautiful songs.

Autechre's songs mostly sound the same.

They weren't really pioneers though, the Barrons were pioneers. By the time most contemporary 80's and 90's electronic artists started the genre had already existed for 30 years.

tbh i find this first layer of humor kinda OK after a while. It's trash but at least is honest, it must be to the fact that a generational gap is done within who made this shit and the audience the tech he's memeing about is. There lies something uncanny that ends up being odd, which I find funny

I seriously don't see how loveless is something that can even be nearly that bad. It's like you've never even heard of Merzbow before.

Merzbow is entry level noise. Get into power electronics it's better

Exactly. But the point is that Loveless is the least ear-bleeding album I've ever heard.

I don't get why people hype/bash this. Its always been an ok album nothing more than that.

Post your random shit, and what you think. Vinyl bargain bins welcome. Unknown /mu/ drops here. Here's mine.

2nd Honeymoon Deaf School. 2 bucks bargain bin. Knock knock knocking best so far. For '77 pretty ahead of their time. Enjoyable. Unique and original but with familiar vibes. Feel like all the songs have familiaruty and elements of successful hits. Nice dynamics.

So far record 1, B side really shines with "Nearly Moonlight Hotel." "Hi Jo Hi" has elements of elevated 90s mimicking the 70s. These guys really transcended their time period.

What have you heard as of late that really blew you away?

I've been trying to go through anything Mike Patton's been involved in and started with Mr. Bungle and wow, I really don't even know how to describe that band. I love the constant genre-cycling and mostly immature, surreal lyrics on the self-titled debut. Disco volante is kind of hard to listen to at times and the mixing/mastering is a little weird but I still admire the amount of experimentation on that one and it's a solid album overall. California is great and I love the concept they went for on it, and even though it's the most accessible of all three albums, that's by no means a downside since the quality doesn't suffer on it whatsoever.

I found Daughters on the front page of Bandcamp in an article about their newest album while looking for something else and at first, I wasn't too impressed, but after re-listening to their last three releases (couldn't do anything before Hell Songs, as I'm not a grindcore fan unless it's parody or purposely funny like Anal Cunt or Kirk Fogg's African Adventure), my opinion has really changed. Hell Songs is pretty decent, although the production leaves a bit to be desired. The 2010 self-titled release is fantastic and I love the lyrical style, especially on "The Hit," which I've listened to more times than I care to admit in the relatively short time since I first heard it. You Won't Get What You Want is one of the darkest, most Poe-like albums I've ever heard and I'd go so far as to even call it scary, yet nothing on it comes off as edgy or whiny and it's more than solid math/noise rock.

Probably the most vile shit I've ever heard, in the best way possible. Great musicianship keeps it from devolving into a flat plane of horror noise like Gnaw Their Tongues's solo work.

I hate Despacito. I fucking hate that fucking niggering crime against acoustics. I hate everything about it. I hate the mush-mouthed spicnigger vocals. I hate the repeatitive fucking beat. I hate the insipid instrumental components. I hate the idiotic degenerate lyrics. I hate Puerto Rico. I hate that it's fucking everywhere all the fucking time. Right now I was having Christmas dinner with my family, and just fucking guess what they decided to play over our family dinner.

TL;DR give me wholesome seasonal music to detox my ears. Or failing that, just post good music that's vaguely Christmas related.

A while back, someone posted a thread asking about conservative bands, and one of the ones posted was a 60's / 70's style pop rock band with a married couple. I can't remember the name of the group, but I liked what I heard. Can you help a fella out?
