No, I know what unpleasant sounds like. ELP's Toccata Ginastera is unpleasant. Aphrodite's Child's 666 has a lot of unpleasant and even downright disturbing tracks, but they're very listenable. Those Trout Mask's unpleasant songs are just lower than Schoenberg tier expressionist bullshit.

Are you fucking serious? You are. Both ELP and Aphrodite's Child are polished, squeaky-clean mainstream stuff. They're both good but they've been made with an audience in mind. Not everything is made to please an audience. Trout Mask Replica wasn't made to please an audience. The two bands you mentioned made everything they did to please a certain audience, and you can hear it in the music.

TL:DR: You should explore music more before you speak out about this kind of shit. You've obviously got a very limited taste. You're missing out on a lot of great music by being a cunt, basically.

I was talking about ELP's cover of Ginastera, which is very experimental and modernist rather than their usual classical-turned-blues stuff, and the cryptic tracks in 666 albums which are Seven Bowls, Wakening Beast, Lament, Tribulation, The Wedding of The Lamb, and Infinity.

Come on, even Faust was more experimental and anti mainstream than Trout Mask, but is actually listenable. They should've put more effort into the album rather than gimmicks.
