This is bad. I personally fucking love CDs. Means all my messy digital files spread over multiple devices can have a home which is why I try to get all my music on CD when possible. I would be pissed as fuck if this has a big impact.

His opinion on CDs will only affect people who listen to shitty pop music (before anyone complains, I mean pop as in broader popular top 40 shit), and even then it won't affect all of those people. CDs are probably going to get phased out of the mainstream eventually anyway.

I mean look at vinyl, a significant amount of people just like to have physical copies of their music. The novelty isn't as much there for CDs but they're going to be around for some time yet.
