Where would I find some 80s synths that work with ardour?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong board to post a question like this in.

I'll save you time.

Look up eurorack modules and buy those instead of software.

Interesting question. Read up about the synthesizers from the era you want to replicate, and try to make them from scratch. They can't be that complicated. By the way, Ardour works with .wav files, and will automatically convert things like .mp3 or .ogg to .wav. For torrents, use: http://metasearch.torrentproject.com or https://torrentproject.se

Just today I got Serum to work by using Wine, Wineasio, and Jack. Use that, Serum is awesome.

But does it work perfectly? Wine seems sketchy.

Well, it does crash on occasion. The only good GNU+Linux-native plugins are Calf and ArtyFX, so it's worth having. WineASIO was a nightmare to install though, Gentoo was easier to install. In a way, Serum is like Massive and Harmour put together.

If music meant less to me than it does I could sacrifice smooth performance for Linux, but no.

I'm also currently trying to get my Ableton Launchpad working with GNU+Linux. GNU+Linux music production isn't for everyone, and Windows is a much more comfortable experience. Ardour really is great though. I've tried Ableton Live, Cubase, and Ardour. Ardour and Cubase are about equal in terms of performance and ease of use. You can always download Ardour for Windows to try it out.

Honestly I just modded the fuck out of FL Nexus .ogg's/OSC3 and tried to see what I got out of it.

I think there's some moog emulators out there, but I'm not sure if you can get it for free outside of .ogg

I stopped making music about a year ago, so it's a little fuzzy for me. Sorry for any discrepancies if there are any. Hope this helps, anon
