Not sure if this is the right board to ask about this. I want to use some something to change my voice a bit. I'm not singing, I just want to dub a video of people talking into my language, but the people in the vid are men and I am a little grill. I'm just curious if there is something or a combination of things I could use to easily change some recordings of my voice, yet sound natural. I have tried a couple voice changer programs and they sound robotic. I tried editing the pitch on audacity but it doesn't really sound genuine either. Any ideas?

Your raw recording needs to be as close as possible, so you need to practice voice acting basically. After that you can change the timber and carefully pitch down. I recommend you try something like Melodyne.

There's some software made specifically for that, I don't remember what it's called. A Google search will help.

Thanks for the tip. I tried lowering my voice IRL and it seems to have made the recording sound less fake when I adjust the pitch. I don't see anything in the tools about adjusting timber, not sure how to do that or quite what it means.

Thanks, I already downloaded alot of voice changing software. Most of it sounded too fake for me but I will keep trying to find a decent one.

Sometimes a combination of software will help. Lowering timbre is good advice aswell.

If you have melodyne great, if not, Imageline made Newtone which is basically the same, and without that, imageline also has harmor.

in all 3 cases you need to do 2 things.

1: change the pitch down a bit

2: adjust the formant positions.

if you have a low voice your the voice you want to use is higher, you can just adjust the formants. there is literally just a formant knob in most cases.
