Happy new year, producers and composers. I know this board is mostly dead now, but I still check in every day. If anyone sees this, let's make some threads this year.

d11ecc No.1472

it's not dead there's just.... not as much to talk about. this board is more a resource with people that jump in and answer questions like a fucking tech support, rather than have a conversation. because like. What are we to talk about?

>starts thread

Hello and today I would like to talk about filters

>Person replies

I enjoy filters. my favorite filter type is making a high shelf

>Person replies

High shelf is shit, comb filters is where it's at

>image reply

>Screencap of a custom filter,

>Is a screencap of spaceballs, the scene with the giant comb. their helmets are knobs. one controls # of bands, one controls peak level/resonance, one controls position.

>OP

[/thread] we're done here.

Like, seriously, other than answering questions and being a resource, what are we supposed to do? Music production memes? it'd all be Soungoodizer, Carnage's 808 tutorial, and SeamlessR's beard.

I mean, we could do remix contests, (Not during holidays, and certainly more than 3 weeks) but beyond that? what is there to do?

The board could be more than a resource center. There could be discussion on genres, techniques, anything from drones to mic positioning and more. Well, at least the board isn't likely to die entirely, just see very low activity, possibly temporarily, probably permanently.

Discussions are fun. Contests are also fun, but there are too few people here to pull it off.

cross-board contest with /mu/? is /mu/ just as slow?

dd4be5 No.1475

>>1474

/mu/ is slow and for that reason don't like any other music boards. "Stealing users" they say. I mean, it's not nearly as slow, it's an idea.

I check almost everyday, too.

We could always kinda advertise in other locations such as facebook music production groups, there's a few really big ones with lots of pretty decent members

I don't know any of those groups, so I'm counting on you.
