In my experience, the best minimal, GNU+Linux native DAW is Sunvox. The only thing it's missing is a simple, non-tracker composition method. I'd like to drag and drop samples along a timeline, ie. FL Studio style. Renoise is absurdly expensive, Ardour is bloated (but FOSS) trash, Pydaw requires qt bloat, and LMMS is incomprehensible and weird. What are your thoughts on Sunvox?

Looks complex and scary.

I'm intrigued. Details pls

What are you talking about, LMMS is the libre version FL Studio. Its a lot easier than anything else.

It's a tracker with modules for effects, sidechaining, compression, etc. it's a pretty nifty program, and I can get a lot done with it in a reasonable amount of time. There's builds for Microsoft Windows, GNU+Linux, OSX, Android, and iOS. If you're comfortable with Milkytracker it's really easy to switch. Pretty good, like a 7.5/10 overall.

It may be easy to use, but there's still something that's just off about it. The way it looks and the way it functions just don't coincide with one another. I guess i'm just not familiar with the workflow, that could totally be the issue.

Also: here's a link to SunVox, I forgot earlier: http://warmplace.ru/soft/sunvox/

Well, fuck me.

I'm trying to set up a metamodule that plays a repeating pattern of 1 kick and 4 notes.

Problem being, when I use the pattern I get the same notes out, no matter what notes I put in (I thought it would adjust based on input note, with C3 being the input note).

TL;DR: How do I into arpeggiator?

Would be easier to tell if you posted what your routing looks like.

It's been a while since I've used it, but I don't see why transposing it on the synths or multi modules just wouldn't work.

>SunVox is a small, fast and powerful modular synthesizer with pattern-based sequencer (tracker).

>"I don't want a tracker to act like a tracker!"
