Yes, America has built a giant, human-piloted fighting robot, and yes, it absolutely looks like something out of MechWarrior.

https://archive.is/5zaUN

>This childhood-dream-come-to-life is built by Oakland-based startup MegaBots. It's called the Mk II, and yes, it totally works.

>Not only does it work. It's completely badass.

>But that's just the start. Japan has built a giant fighting robot of their own dubbed "Kuratas."

>It is ALSO totally fucking epic.

>And you fire it's weapons by smiling like a deranged super-villain.

>You see what I'm getting at here. The stage is clearly set for a showdown.

>Because let's be real. We, as a race, do not deserve to have giant robots unless we're making them do this…

>The good news is that back in June of 2015 the founders of MegaBots issued a challenge to the Suidobashi Heavy Industry, the creators of Kuratas. The terms? A duel, one year from the date.

>They accepted.

>Which means that in 3 short months THIS is gonna be happening.

>If you aren't already picking sides and screaming with excitement, I recommend starting now.

19 March 2016

Palm Beach, Florida – Having an interesting dinner at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate and residence – which may become the southern White House if fed-up American voters have their way.

One feels an air of whispered importance and gravitas here. After Trump’s smashing primary victories this past week, there’s a growing sense that the Donald is headed for victory while his legions of bitter opponents are left wringing their hands.

In fact, Trump is fast emerging as an American version of the People’s Tribunes of ancient Rome, the important state officials who voiced the people’s anger and concerns.

As the Trump revolution spreads, his enemies are desperately seeking ways to stop the Donald’s Juggernaut. Cries go to the heavens, “save the Republican Party before Trump wrecks it.”

As a life-long (but now fallen away) Republican, I say “good riddance”. More power to Trump to blast apart this deeply corrupt, cynical party steeped in political payoffs and religious fanaticism, and run by former used car dealers from Pocatello.

Many moons ago, I even began a run for Congress from my native New York City but was horrified to see the creatures that scuttled below the city’s political rocks. A senior party official who was also a prison guard advised me: “son, only two types of people go into politics. Those with no money like me; and those from rich families who do it for their egos.”

The Clintons are a perfect example of the former, two local Arkansas politicians who made millions by peddling influence. Trump fits the second category. He is a rough, tough, uncultured but wealthy New Yorker whose family there dates from the 1880’s when the city was the third largest German city in the world after Berlin and Hamburg.

Readers keep asking me what I think of Trump. My view: he is the worst of the candidates – except all the others

On Tuesday, a panel of linguists in Germany declared Lügenpresse the dubious winner in the annual "Unwort des Jahres" competition. The annual, politically charged "non-word of the year" event critiques phrases that have taken on a pernicious meaning in the country over the course of a given year.

The coronation of Lügenpresse represents a troubling trend. The phrase, which means "lying press" and found most recent use in the Nazi era, has become something of a watchword among Germany's increasingly vociferous anti-immigrant (and largely anti-Muslim) activists. In recent months, these demonstrators have called on the media to "tell the truth" about what immigrants are doing to Germany.

Other recent winners include Sozialtourismus ("social tourism"), which in a certain context also relates to immigrants who come to Germany to indulge in state benefits, and Döner-Morde (Döner murder), which dismissively refers to murders of Turkish and Greek people. (For a compelling contrast, consider that just last week, the American Dialect Society named #blacklivesmatter as 2014's word of the year—the first time a hashtag has won.)

Two propane tanks exploded and were sent airborne at a Jersey City recycling facility after a two-alarm fire broke out there this morning, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.

The fire, which was reported at 1 Caven Point Ave. in the Greenville section of the city, started in wooden pallets in a trailer at the recycling yard just before 10 a.m., Morrill said.

However, the presence of multiple propane tanks stored in the vicinity of the blaze complicated the fire department's response. When the first company of firefighters arrived at the scene, one of the tanks ruptured and was propelled onto light rail tracks some 300 feet from the facility, Morrill said.

Light rail service was not interrupted, Morrill said.

A witness said another propane tank exploded and was thrust between 50 to 60 feet in the air before striking a New Jersey Turnpike Extension ramp nearby, Morrill said.

In addition to fighting the flames, firefighters also had to shoot water at the remaining propane tanks, cooling them at an appropriate pace to allow them to "vent." If the tanks were cooled too fast, Morrill said, the liquid could escape. Meanwhile, more tanks could have potentially exploded if they were not cooled fast enough, she added.

Democracy is a scam

What?! Did he really just say democracy is a scam?! Yes, he did. And he shall explain.

Now, I walk around the great city of Tucson here because I am on foot most of the time. I am a wayfarer. It seems that Political Season is in the air here. You know this time of the year: Severe BS allergies acting up, big piles of fallen lies littering the ground, the Dumbocracy fever is spreading, and so on. Therefore, in front of many public spaces are petition gatherers. “Excuse me, sir, are you registered to vote?” No, I don’t vote. “Why not?” Because it’s a scam! I mean, isn’t that why you’re trying to SELL me this petition? It’s not like you could set up a self-serve kiosk here like dispenses DVDs and expect signatures for whatever legislative processed luncheon loaf you’re purveying, am I right? No, you need to accost us so we’ll sign it out of the subconscious desire not to say “no” to an alleged democratic process. Well, I not only say NO to it, but I find it to be a scam of the type I’d say is in the Seven Scam Wonders of the World.

See, this morning, this dude is running for political office. So he’s collecting signatures on a petition to get himself on the ballot. He asks for signatures and people sign it without asking questions. Look, for all they know, his platform is carting everyone off to forced labor camps. Or raising taxes. Whichever comes first. I have been observing this scam for some time now and have seen people gathering signatures to create more laws and politicians we honestly don’t need. Because it’s democracy?! These people aren’t even reading what they’re signing!!! I think I should cart around a petition making me these peoples’ lawful heirs and I bet they’ll all sign it. Understand this: Democracy isn’t better. Just ask the Ancient Greeks who invented it.

People say, “Well, we have a right to petition the government for a redress of grievances!” Oh, do we now? Let me write that petition and it’ll stretch from here to Washington DC! Right, sure we do! We only have a right to petition the government to tax us more, oppress us with more laws, and elect more dummies that couldn’t find their butts with both hands if directions were glued to their palms. I saw this one petition that wants the government to spend more money sePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

>Why are all images becoming stormfront links?

It's how the FBI operates. When they want to discredit a group that is critical of the government, agents will infiltrate the group and false flag "radical speech" which is then used as a pretext for surveillance and legal harassment of all the group's legitimate members.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COINTELPRO

Stormfront has been a known government honeypot for as long as I can remember, so of course when the government cracks down on anonymous free speech one tactic is to flood the board with "radicals" from their existing co-opted communities.

>According to attorney Brian Glick in his book War at Home, the FBI used four main methods during COINTELPRO:

>

>Infiltration: Agents and informers did not merely spy on political activists. Their main purpose was to discredit and disrupt. Their very presence served to undermine trust and scare off potential supporters. The FBI and police exploited this fear to smear genuine activists as agents.

>

>Psychological warfare: The FBI and police used myriad "dirty tricks" to undermine progressive movements. They planted false media stories and published bogus leaflets and other publications in the name of targeted groups. They forged correspondence, sent anonymous letters, and made anonymous telephone calls. They spread misinformation about meetings and events, set up pseudo movement groups run by government agents, and manipulated or strong-armed parents, employers, landlords, school officials and others to cause trouble for activists. They used bad-jacketing to create suspicion about targeted activists, sometimes with lethal consequences.[40]

>

>Legal harassment: The FBI and police abused the legal system to harass dissidents and make them appear to be criminals. Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/03/14/chicago-cop-blog-says-that-protests-at-weekend-trump-rally-far-worse-than-reported/

>The protests launched by militant leftists who shut down Donald Trump’s Chicago rally were far more aggressive and destructive than reported, says a Chicago Police officer.

>“It seems the [media] aren’t broadcasting footage of the debris being thrown across Harrison by Sanders/Hillary supporters at Trump fans,” the officer wrote shortly after the canceled Trump event.

>The officer, who posed anonymously on the Second City Cop blog, also noted the media didn’t report that protesters were running through parking lots and breaking windows of cars with Trump stickers on them, or that the department called out emergency Incident Teams to cope with the anti-Trump riot at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

>Later that same day the officer posted a second, much longer post, to detail the failures of the police leaders to plan for and respond to the protests.

>The officer insisted there was “pretty much zero in terms of a unified Command Post” for the event, and that officers had no central command to report to or coordinate response from.

>“Who wrote this plan?” the officer wrote. “We’ve seen and heard reports that UIC was woefully unprepared for this. They had their own people and Monterey Security inside. The Secret Service had a presence, but they’re restricted to dignitary protection. The ISP had a squad there. And CPD. So where were the people geared up for a riot? For NATO we had an entire strike force geared up and ready to go. We had the Mounted Unit up and running. Tens of dozens of bikes. Did no one see this coming?”

The fight is on — Donald Trump vs. Elizabeth Warren

https://archive.is/u36JZ

>Elizabeth Warren got what she wanted — Donald Trump’s attention.

>And now it’s open war between them, with @elizabethforma calling Trump a “loser,” whose “insecurities are on parade: petty bullying, attacks on women, cheap racism, and flagrant narcissism.”

>The senator started the fight in a recent Facebook post, in which she said he’s “a bigger, uglier threat every day that goes by.” She also accused him of promoting “a form of hate that is virulent and that is bad for our country.”

>In typical Trump fashion, he counterattacked on a matter his victim prefers to duck: her heritage. “She’s got about as much Indian blood as I have. Her whole life was based on a fraud. She got into Harvard and all that because she said she was a minority,” Trump — the rich man’s son who got into Wharton — said in a New York Times column by Maureen Dowd over the weekend.

>To Warren, those are fighting words. They refer to a sensitive issue, first raised in 2012 by Warren’s then-Republican opponent, Scott Brown — now an ex-senator and Trump backer. When she was first hired as a professor at Harvard Law School, Warren was listed as a Native American. Warren said she learned about her background from her family but has no proof beyond that. During their contentious Senate battle, Brown said she identified herself that way purely for career advancement. Although it wasn’t a winning issue for him, “I was hurt and I was angry,” Warren writes in her book “A Fighting Chance.”

>Trump, of course, lives to hurt. Just ask “low energy” Jeb Bush, “lying Ted” Cruz, or “Little Marco” Rubio. His strategy is clear: Everyone’s fair game.

>But in taking on Warren, Trump is challenging someone who knows how to go viral as effectively as he does. After the Times coPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Five bodies hang from a pole suspended between two cranes, a public display which serves as a reminder to those who might contemplate a life of crime.

They belonged to a gang of five robbers, all of whom were publicly beheaded before their corpses were hoisted high in the air, where they remained for days.

The gruesome sight is one scene in a shocking documentary to be aired this week which sheds light on life in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s bloodiest and most secretive countries.

The film, Saudi Arabia Uncovered, contains harrowing footage of beheadings. A woman dressed in black is held down at the side of a public road by four Saudi policemen, after she has been convicted of killing her stepdaughter.

She is executed with a sword blow to the neck, as she screams: ‘I did not do it.’

We have all heard of the brutality of the Saudi regime, but what makes this documentary so chilling is that we see it on camera.

In another beheading scene, the executioner, dressed in the white robes typically worn by Saudi men, raises his curved sword above his head and brings it down in a single sweep.

The documentary introduces viewers to a large public space nicknamed Chop Chop Square because it is the site of so many executions in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The camera lingers on the red-stained drainage system used to wash away the blood of those executed.

Police are seen brandishing whips against women, who are considered second-class citizens. At one point they brutally knock a woman to the ground and you hear her scream.

In a similar vein, a male supermarket customer pushes a female shopper to the floor for no apparent reason. He then walks past her, oblivious to her anguish, as she scurries terrified out of his way.

What the film makes abundantly clear is that the country is a murderous dictatorship which refuses to tolerate dissent.

In Shakespearean times, cuckolds were referred to as “he who has horns” — an issue everyone else can see, that’s not obvious to them. Everyone else sees his shame immediately, but the cuckold can only tell by looking closely in a mirror. Perhaps the same is true for censors, who insist that they adore free speech while mercilessly trampling it at the slightest opportunity.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, whom I wouldn’t even right-swipe on Grindr (ironically one of the few social platforms left without Orwellian speech suppression), recently made a visit to The Today Show where he firmly proclaimed that his site doesn’t censor its users. Dorsey made his extraordinary statement following Matt Lauer’s claim that his Twitter followers named censorship as one of the most important issues facing the social media platform.

Jack is the CEO of two companies, and bad at running both, but Twitter has really been the worst of his two failures. Imagine taking a company from the “free speech wing of the free speech party” to shadowbanning, politically motivated de-verifications and banning “problematic” accounts (usually conservative or libertarian).

Since Dorsey returned to the company that he considers his “first born son,” the site has transformed from the public’s megaphone into the public’s muzzle. He’s calmly drowning free speech in the bathtub while adding unwanted features like algorithmic timelines and sponsored tweets.

Dorsey, who once was fired from his role as Twitter’s chief executive for an obsession with hot yoga and shirt-making, noted that Twitter only censors speech that “promotes violence.” Of course, this fails to explain my own unverification, Twitter’s rampant shadow-banning, and the suspension of Adam Baldwin over innocuous tweets that were interpreted as insults by easily-offended snowflakes. It seems Dorsey weaves fibs and half-truths as enthusiastically as he weaves straight-cut hemp outerwear.

News reports about President Obama’s visit to Cuba are regularly referring to his meeting with “Cuban President Raul Castro.”

https://archive.is/vvXd2

>But Castro is not a president in the same sense that President Obama is. He’s not even a president in the dictionary sense. The Oxford English Dictionary defines “president” as “the elected head of a republican state.” Raul Castro was not elected, and Cuba is not a republic.

>Castro is a military dictator. That may not be a polite thing to say, but journalists are supposed to tell the truth, not worry about the feelings of the powerful. Indeed, according to the distinguished journalists Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel, in their book The Elements of Journalism, written under the auspices of the Nieman Foundation, journalism’s first obligation is to tell the truth. The truth is that Raul Castro is, as Fidel Castro was, a dictator who rules with the support of the military.

>Even the Wall Street Journal refers to “Cuban President Raul Castro.” I particularly regret this, because back in 2006 I called them out for their double standard on dictators, in a letter they published. They had written in an obituary note:

>Gen. Alfredo Stroessner, the military strongman who ruled Paraguay from 1954 until 1989. Among 20th century Latin American leaders, only Cuban President Fidel Castro has served longer.

>[Why] do you describe Gen. Alfredo Stroessner as a “military strongman” and Fidel Castro as “Cuban president” (“A Flair for Flavor,” Aug. 19)? Both came to power through bullets, not ballots, and ruled with an iron hand. Mr. Stroessner actually held elections every five years, sometimes with opposition candidates, though of course there was no doubt of the outcome.

>Mr. Castro dispensed with even the pretense of elections. Both ruled with the support of the army. In Cuba’s case, the armed forces were headed by Mr. Castro’s brotherPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

You'd be amazed at what trade can do. US Opening trade relations with China is slowly turning them from a USSR-style hell hole into a much more humane dictator because people want nice things.

Normalizing pot trade is killing Mexican cartels, and making Mexico more manageable. Mexicans are returning in increasingly larger numbers voluntarily.

Imagine when those Cubans get internet cafes and fast food. Even if Cuba tries to ban large parts of the internet, Americans will just introduce the Cubans to TOR. The moment those Cubans eat their first real American burger, they'll be spearing Raul Castro like one of Vlad's victims.

>A rare type of hermit crab has been rediscovered at a beach in Falmouth after a 30 year absence.

>The tiny crab, known only as clibanarius erythropus, has not been recorded in Cornish waters since 1985.

>It is a species found in warmer waters but can be found in the channel islands and along the French coast, according to Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

>The find at Castle Beach was made by an amateur photographer who was taking part in a survey run by the trust.

>More on this story and other news from Devon and Cornwall

>Local marine experts said the ten-legged crustacean was occasionally found on the south coast of Cornwall but since the Torrey Canyon oil spill in 1967 it had "virtually disappeared" from Cornish shores.

>They believe the discovery shows Cornwall's marine life may now have fully recovered from the environmental disaster.

>Clibanarius erythropus is from the Latin meaning soldier, clad in mail with red legs.

>Finding the tiny crab was "the icing on the cake" during a fruitful rockpooling survey, Matt Slater, marine awareness officer for Cornwall Wildlife Trust, said.

>"Spectacularly low tides and stunning weather provided a unique view of Cornwall's fabulous coastline exposing sections of the shore which you would normally only see with a snorkel.

>"We were all really excited by the find. Its scientific name is a bit of a mouthful so if anyone can think of a good name for the crab we would appreciate suggestions."

>It has become en vogue for chain restaurants to decorate in a style that makes them seem more unique and less mass market. This brings up an issue that has hit Joe's Crab Shack, a subsidiary of Ignite Restaurant Group, hard. A historical photo displayed under the glass of a table in the restaurant depicting two African Americans being hung in a town square with an added speech bubble that read: "all I said Is I didn't like the gumbo" offended a restaurant patron at their location in Minnesota.

>The picture in question is in poor taste. Black or white, the fact is no one wants to see a picture of someone being hung while they are eating.

>It's not difficult to see how a photo of this nature slipped through, it's hard to run a business and it's even harder to manage all the details. This is where a third party consultant could make all the difference. Often times we get so close to our businesses, even our managers and directors we have hired are so in the zone they lose some perspective. Frankly, it can't be avoided if you are passionate about your business.

>The truth is you can't please everyone. I believe that 1% of all people will be totally unsatisfied no matter what a business does. That aside, there are three big no-no's that all corporations should be aware of. In this case, race.

>Racial sensitivities are not going away anytime soon, even though awareness is at its peak in the United States. The color of skin is always going to be a divider of people. My business partner, Daymond John, is an African American and my children are half Hispanic. I have lived in three countries where I have been the minority including Israel; and I understand how charged people may get over something unintentional.

If you thought crabs couldn't dance, think again.

A man wearing a crab suit jammed to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" at a recent Los Angeles seafood boil. His audience was small, but his passion? It was jumbo.

Now, Crab Man is the new personal hero of thousands across the Internet. Sure, the in-person onlookers didn't seem amused, but they were probably just jealous.

Since March of 2010, the American people have had to suffer under the incredible economic burden of the Affordable Care Act—Obamacare. This legislation, passed by totally partisan votes in the House and Senate and signed into law by the most divisive and partisan President in American history, has tragically but predictably resulted in runaway costs, websites that don’t work, greater rationing of care, higher premiums, less competition and fewer choices. Obamacare has raised the economic uncertainty of every single person residing in this country. As it appears Obamacare is certain to collapse of its own weight, the damage done by the Democrats and President Obama, and abetted by the Supreme Court, will be difficult to repair unless the next President and a Republican congress lead the effort to bring much-needed free market reforms to the healthcare industry.

But none of these positive reforms can be accomplished without Obamacare repeal. On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.

However, it is not enough to simply repeal this terrible legislation. We will work with Congress to make sure we have a series of reforms ready for implementation that follow free market principles and that will restore economic freedom and certainty to everyone in this country. By following free market principles and working together to create sound public policy that will broaden healthcare access, make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans.

Any reform effort must begin with Congress. Since Obamacare became law, conservative Republicans have been offering reforms that can be delivered individually or as part of more comprehensive reform efforts. In the remaining sections of this policy paper, several reforms will be offered that should be considered by Congress so that on the first day of the Trump Administration, we can start the process of restoring faith in government and economic liberty to the people.

Congress must act. Our elected representatives in the House and Senate must:

I hate to be the shill but I alive now only because of obamacare. Som dirty kike diagnosed me with COPD when I had lung disease. I could not get insurance in any case because I was had COPD in my twenties. I got insurance as soon as a could. 3 months later or exactly a year ago I went into septic shock and was barely alive in a sedated coma. The hospitals in my state are horrible and they know it so they sent my to Scripps in California (top 100 hospital in the world) on a 3 seater plane. I wonder if i would have racked up 3.1 million in costs with no insurance if I ever got in that plane or be fucking dead

So Obamacare is your savior and nothing that it supplanted when it was enacted would have worked even better?

Are you implying X amount of $ you made other people spend, most likely in excess of your net worth when you finally die, is somehow adding to the holiness of Obamacare?

>"I hate to be the shill"

Not one difference was made.

Disclaimer: I dislike Obamacare, not you or insurance in general. No second response will come from me.
