Donald Trump would lose handily to Hillary Clinton in a general election for one key reason, former Bush 43 aide Tony Fratto said Thursday.
"In the very best of years, when you have a unified GOP, Republicans have an electoral disadvantage relative to the Democratic candidate; that's pretty clear," Fratto told CNBC's "Squawk Box."
"Trump is not going to bring unity to the party. If it's a contested convention, and it's someone else, that's not going to resolve unity either. So, [with] a divided GOP and a fairly unified Democratic candidate, I don't think this is a hard question," said Fratto, the former deputy White House press secretary and now managing director at consulting firm Hamilton Place Strategies.
Clinton notched victories in Ohio and Florida on Tuesday, two key swing states. Trump won the Florida GOP primary, but lost in Ohio to the state's governor, John Kasich.

Democrats aren't unified under Hillary though, it's still a pretty good split between her and Bernie. Once Bernie loses, I'm guessing anywhere between 25-50% of his supporters will defect to Trump's side or not vote at all. Most of the independents will vote for trump as well. As for the GOP, it probably won't fracture as bad as the media says it will. Right now the establishment is losing their shit, but as Trump wins more states, the more they will accept that it's all ogre and they'll have to accept Trump.
We havent't even seen Trump and Hillary one-on-one yet, and when they are up against each other Trump will likely curbstump Hillary's campaign so hard she won't even want to be alive anymore.

The Democrats are still completely fractured between Killary and Glassberg, with a bunch of his supporters either already defecting to Trump or promising to if Glassberg becomes completely hopeless.
Even with the insane opposition that Trump faces he has come out time and time again as supreme, and that's solely because of not only the insane amount of support he's getting from the Republicans and Independents but also from the tidal wave of people registering to vote for the first time ever solely to vote for Trump. People like me.

Duh. Every poll of a Clinton v. Trump matchup has Clinton winning the popular vote by a comfortable margin and the EC vote by a significant margin. She's going to capture all of the populous coastal blue states and a number of swing states. She'll probably get Ohio, New Mexico, and maybe Florida. Trump will have to get 7 or 8 out of every 10 white male voters to beat Clinton, and that's not likely to happen.
Of course, that's assuming the party even lets him get the nomination. The Republican establishment hates Trump. For lots of reasons, but one of which is that they know he can't beat Clinton, and they're tearing their hair out about being out of the White House for another 4 years minimum. No Republican wants for the GOP to have been out of the White House from 2009 to 2024.

I wouldn't be free, but my great great great great grand children would be… And we would be free from non white (except Chinese or Russian) leeches…

Clinton's a hard-core gun control advocate, so she'll push for that.
We'd probably get involved in at least one small war, because she'd want to prove that "muh wimminz got the ballz 2 b commander-in-chief!" I hope she'd be smart enough not to get us involved in a proxy war with Russia, so maybe not Syria.
She's in bed with the financial services industry, so you can expect no meaningful regulation of Wall Street. She'd probably try to throw some relief to the middle class and the poor, but it's hard to say what form that might take, since it will depend on what she can negotiate with Congress.
A lot of her general policy would be a continuation of Obama's and Bush's. Expect more NSA surveillance, more drone assassinations, and the like. She would support weakening/backdooring encryption. She would not support marijuana decriminalization. She's a big booster for the wage gap myth, so she would probably try to push some kind of "historic" legislation to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Obama has already started us down that road by requiring large companies to provide wage and salary information by gender.
You can expect that "immigration reform" would be part of her plans. There's no way that doesn't make sense for a Democrat. Something like 75% of Hispanics vote Democrat. Amnesty and a path to citizenship for large numbers of Hispanics could make Arizona and even Texas bluer.
Clinton's a moderate, not because she sees value in compromise, but because outside of a couple of issues, she really has no ideology, only personal ambition. So I wouldn't expect the direction of the country to change drastically if she were elected, especially if she can't work with Congress more effectively than Obama. I guess whether you regard that as a bad thing depends on what you think about the direction of the country.
Old folks think the country is rapidly going to hell in a handbasket, but they always think that, in every generation. As for me, I think the U.S. is in decline, but it's a slow decline. I think the U.S. will continue to decline slowly under Clinton.
