Alright, here's my go at a flag.
Stars stands for the Southern Cross (Visible in all places in Namibia I think).
White stands for the white's who created the republic.
Emblem stands for Rhodesia. ;-; o wat a time it was.
Orange stands for the orange dirt/sand of Namibia or some shit.

Put a cross on the flag and you will have endless protected status and donations for all time. Every christian church in several nations would be willing to donate to a christian state dedicated to helping out all surrounding african areas. It could be an actual safe place for Americorps to deliver aid, everyone will view it positively. Even Israel which is obviously jewish still lets people have their choice of religion but the star helps them and puts them in a good light to the world.
Cross on the flag will benefit the white country, even if you hate religion. Religion won't be codified into the constitution, it will just be a symbol for the rest of the world to allow us to live.
Think about it, a simple cross, no fancy designs or anything on it and you will forever have a place in the world."

The southern cross is a really good idea. I also like the idea of using Namibia's sash across the flag.
I went with a deep blue because it is the sky behind the stars and the vital ocean we depend on, also it compliments the orange nicely. The burntish orange was chosen to represent the desert which would be our land. Finally, the green for fertility, Rhodesia, and Namibia. These are my personal choices on color, if you want alterations, voice your opinions.
We can also use an emblem on the empty space at the bottom, but I'd rather we have a more unique emblem than Namibia's.

The region is one of the most stable in sub-Saharan Africa. It's looking like it will stay around for quite some time. What advantage do we get from declaring independence, anyway? They have no enemies in the region, and the second largest army in the region. They'll actually do a decent job protecting us.

Damn that sounds cool.Hey I just thought of something why not make our colony an official business, that way it's actually much more legal.
Our constitution would be a corporate charter.
Our community could be called the Namibian Conglomerate

>>1996I really like this one.
When designing a good flag, keep in mind the following aesthetic rules:
http://www.nava.org/flag-design/good-flag-bad-flag/5-basic-principles-flag-design
>1. Keep It Simple: The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory…
>2. Use Meaningful Symbolism: The flag’s images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it symbolizes…
>3. Use 2–3 Basic Colors: Limit the number of colors on the flag to three, which contrast well and come from the standard color set…
>4. No Lettering or Seals: Never use writing of any kind or an organization’s seal…
>5. Be Distinctive or Be Related: Avoid duplicating other flags, but use similarities to show connections…Even if you must use a coat of arms on the flag, using an existing coat of arms isn't good heraldic courtesy. Better just get our own coat of arms.
With that in mind, have a look at my attempt.
The flag design is similar to the various Boer Republics, representing the legacy of the Afrikaners. The green represents the legacy of Rhodesia. The black is taken from the top of the German flag (representing Namibia's former colonists) and the blue is from the bottom of the South African flag and represents the legacy of the RSA. The white represents the white people, united in a new homeland.
Thoughts?

How's this? At a basic level, it's got green over orange representing life and growth out of the desert; The blue is like water bridging the divide, making the transition possible. The four points represent a compass, pointing to the colonialism aspect of the endeavor. The white just looks good, and it appeals to the /pol/acks.
We can do a more in-depth analysis based on established color significance. Green is agriculture, fertility, hope, that sort of thing. Orange, symbolizing energy and enthusiasm, is a combination of red - determination, bravery, strength - and yellow - wealth and optimism (and that hot desert sun) - and it appeals to the Dutch (the Boers, the Afrikaaners). Blue means vigilance, perseverance, freedom, loyalty, trust, and security. White signifies peace, honesty, and innocence. All of those meanings for those colors fall cleanly into two desirable categories: things that make people want to join/help us, and things that make people feel ok and not threatened by our presence and activities.

Flag expert here.
Considering this nation isn't even born, and that your resources will be scarce, former nations in such a situation usually picked a flag design that is easily reproduced. Sometimes it's been made by repurposing something common and widely available around them: there have been red flags made out of Coca-Cola promotional material, UN food bags, wool covers, torn enemy flags… it usually conveys a strong message related to the birth of that nation. I guess a flag made out of hotpocket cardboard boxes would be fitting.
Whatever motif there is, it is also easily reproduced with next to zero means. Pic related shows a common technique of negative space flags, which are easily reproduced with just a white sheet, black paint, and something as basic as your hand or stock sticks to form a cross. Pretty much the simplest flag making technique there can be, but can lead to sick results with some imagination.
