Thanks to the modern era we live in, physical infrastructure isn't 100% vital. As long as the population is connected to the internet, we can obtain practically any information or skills we need.
Investing in tablets and internet connections will be wiser than funding vast libraries.

As a 17 year old kid, you're not going to have a great idea about what you're good at. I think that it's important that if someone working on farms or whatever suddenly realizes they like mathematics, and begins studying in their spare time to catch up, they should have the option to proceed to higher education if they're capable.
That said, we are definitely going to need to send our to-be STEMs overseas for university, so we would still need to be reasonably selective because of the economics.
