I'm in Information Technology and work part time in the reserves. I am also a student training to be a code monkey and operate an e-commerce side business on amazon.
I'll tackle
- Business/Finance
and also look into
- Water/Desalination.

I was looking at those F Cube modules, but for their price, making our own solar distillery for desalination is more cost effective. To produce even 50 - 100 gallons of water per day, it would cost $12,000 USD for those F-Cubed models.

As for business, I'll try to pick apart Namibia's GDP by sector and see where the money goes, how difficult it is to get a small business loan, etc.

Agriculture and Livestock (Trained, but not for Namibian conditions)
Water Desalination (Trained)

Also OP you forgot Energy Production. I used to install Green energy equipment and the conditions in Namibia would be ideal for solar panel arrays which in turn can power ground pumps for water, desalination equipment and crop feed/water distribution equipment.

Telecommunications equipment in a remote area would be a challenge though. It would be satellite uplink subscriptions or nothing. Welcome back to Australia in 1995.

the reason shit like this is planned and never happens is because a) no actual desire to flee your home country and b) information-age youths can play a mean game of splinter cell but have no idea when to harvest red corn or how to replace a broken window.

ever heard of the Sandhills? it's an area in nebraska that stretches for over 30 miles, nothing but hilly prairie peppered with small lakes.
looks like the end of the fucking world. it went utterly unsettled by any native american tribe for thousands and thousands of years because there's nothing to fucking eat. the soil is so horrendously shitty that modern-day farmers with industrial fertilizers, electricity and irrigation can't get a single potato to grow in the sand-clogged deathbed that stretches from Scottsbluff to O'Neil. freedmen struggled to irrigate acres of tobacco, cotton and peaches, then just left for actual cities like Omaha and Lincoln to construct toilets and circuit boxes when it didn't work. the few people who do remain either break their back keeping plots of maize alive or ranch. and the population continues to drop today, right now, because people are going "fuck it" and driving to Denver or Wichita. if they can't eke out a living what chance do people like us have in the fucking african desert?

pic related.

You make a pyramid farm and house it.
That way you protect the crops from UV radiation, sand, wind and wildlife. you set up a feed system inside the pyramid with the pump at the top with irrigation canals leading down to a reservoir at the bottom to ensure no water is wasted. The real problem is money for materials, but it's completely doable.

Was that so hard to fathom? Rather than try to grow things in the shitty soil you simply develop the land and build an artificial farm on top of it using good soil. You don't adapt the environment to suit you, you adapt to suit the environment. That shit is grade school agriculture/world studies.

Chemical Engineering with strong emphasis in biotechnology, genetic engineering, and bioprocessing. Also took some mechanical engineering courses.

Graduating this year so no experience outside of an internship that was with a smaller company that was still in Development stage with a new piece of equipment. Said piece of equipment might be useful, the project I was working on with it dealt with improving the first stages of the gold refining process (Can't legally describe it for 2 more years after this June).

I was also fairly active in Boy Scouts (USA) in high school, especially the outdoors stuff, don't know if that will help. I also home brew beer, which sadly might be my greatest contribution to the project.

You know I have this idea that I'm working on where West Namibia would be divided into three states (similar to the more independent pre-Lincoln states) under a "federal union" where we have a national socialist state, a paleocon state, a libertarian state and a Christian theocracy state.

My only issue is how to we keep the union by not having these states eventually want to break off and make a tiny nation into several micronations…
