2492cd No.5605

ErwinRommel here, doing research for you guys on the topic of aviation in Namibia, and whether it's viable. Kit planes are the way to go for this as they are cheap, reliable, and easy/relatively cheap to maintain. STOL CH 801 is the preferred model after extensive research, either that or the 701. Pic related, the 701/801's are literally all over Africa. Easy to get parts, almost no runway required (500 feet is way more than enough) and you can put fucking auto gas in them. Building a 701 is around 43k, the 801 is around 70k. A few of these and we have more than plenty. Put in some viable aircraft /namibia/.

I have this topic as well, we should coordinate.

Starting with the free stuff - http://skyvector.com/

>Windhoek airspace is class D

What does this mean? It means that we don't need a transponder with mode C - which is extra jewgolds to attach it to your altimeter. That would mean aviation traffic in namibia in general is very low. We could fly pretty much whatever whenever the fuck we wanted if we had it. BUT we still need a transponder, which is standard in anything we'll get. No worries there mates.

Now that we've established Namibia's air space, let's look at Johannesburg just to the south of us. It's about the only place worth visiting even though it's full of fucking niggers.

>No class C there either

There is no airspace in our range that is worth a mode C transponder. Now some reading.

http://www.pilotfriend.com/training/flight_training/nav/rd_charts.htm

Learn your airspaces, and what they mean. You'll note the lack of Class A airspace - that is because it is literally spaceships. We'll never get that high so don't worry about it.

>Do I need a pilots license?

Even in nigger africa they keep track of that shit.

>How do I get one?

Go to ground school, get your permit. Pay an instructor x amount of hours depending on what country you are in. This takes Jewgolds. You can get a book (you know, for reading) to learn the basics about flying. It's called the FAR/AIM - get this years flavor if you can.

http://faraim.org/

http://faraim.org/aim/aim-4-03-14.html

The US guides are pretty damn good stuff. If us Yanks have anything figured out, it's flying (and guns). Breathe that shit. There's a lot to know for flying. Relax, take it in slow and don't fucking rush it like your dad did to your ass when you were six.

Absolutely correct. What do you know? Almost private pilot here.

NOTE

NO WE DO NOT NEED A FUCKING AIR FORCE I WILL STAB WHOEVER SUGGESTS IT IN THE EYE WITH MY FUCKING PENIS AND BASH IT UNTIL IT GOES OUT THE BACK OF YOUR SKULL!!!!!

Militarizing will attract attention that we don't want. Like the namibian air force MI-24's.

Awesome, other pilots on here!
Cessnas aren't bad planes to have for personal use. A small cargo plane would be good to have as well.

A cargo plane on standby would be nice, and I did find what appeared to be a good kit for one. Trouble is we don't need anything more than a large utility craft. A moose would do the job just fine if we wanted to go that big. Otherwise the kits I mentioned would be the best way i've seen yet. Unless you can find more viable options. I'm open for debate.

Nothing about flying, but I have been researching prices on different aircraft

You made a very good suggestion with the STOL 701/801 they are very good planes from what I have seen.

Since Namibia is quite flat we could build a dirt airstrip very easily and cut down travel time to Windhoek or Johannesburg/Pretoria by quite a bit.

>>5625

>WE DO NOT NEED A FUCKING AIRFORCE

I don't see where anyone suggested anything of the sort.

2492cd No.5645

Keep up the work, there's a lot out there I'm sure I haven't seen. Mostly a fuckton of dead links.

Just some faggots that keep suggesting we get ex-military fighters. I want them to fuck off because it is not only a waste of money, but downright dangerous for us to have. That would attract things like MI-24's that are armed and not on our side.

I was looking for some smaller cargo planes for sale, but I don't think we need one that's all that big. Probably something like Small turbo prop to carry supplies and stuff from across Namibia. Something like pic related.

Oh FFS I forgot. You can mooch your parents for help with this under the strong pretense that you are doing something with your life. Make sure you lose weight so that it is believable. And if you don't go, fly anyways.

2492cd No.5734

part of what I was thinking in recommending those planes. they can be kept outside or with minimal shelter, and they require a very short runway. the 107 can pretty much make like an AV-88 and hop, but the 108 needs around 500 ft to be safe. smaller runways are easier to maintain.

You either have 20/20 vision, and join the military and become a pilot there to take the easy route, or pay jewgolds to get your license over time. If you have parents to mooch from, all the better.

2492cd No.6507

Pipers are tough good planes but they cost jewgolds. The kit planes are just as tough - given that you assemble it properly (about the only catch really). Another reason I recommend it over the piper or a cessna is because a lot of charities have been giving them away in africa, making parts easier to find. If you can put it together, you can do most of the maintenance given that you have the materials.
