Since we are founding a country based on rational principles, and not statist rent seeking, I think the idea of a traditional city is very appealing.
Basically, the city is designed around walking, like cities were before the car. Long distance travel can be provided by wide arterial roads.
This helps keep communities together, reduces pollution, massively reduces the cost of the city (a huge factor for us) and is overall more pleasant to live in.
Think of Venice, or the old parts of Florence or Barcelona.

I think guidelines are good, but we need to remember what has led to the situation we are fleeing the West from: the availability of political power, which will always be abused. If we don't want to be ruled by those often behind posts, then we must not allow a political system to even exist.

I would favour a city design inspired by german/austrian towns. With every wave of newcomers having to adhere to a certain set of preplanned rules considering extensions to the town.

I'm not saying no good can come out of government programs, but organic freedom is far superior for creating wealth and prosperity. Obviously, there will be one or two examples where government interference improved lives, but this is against a backdrop of corruption and buerocratic incompetence.
For example:

This cannot happen in a free society. That inefficiency would totally kill any project with that aim.

Parks and squares are a good idea as they will instill a sense of community in the inhabitants. That is the same reason why I am against the idea of building the town to be largely car accesible. Main roads or even better avenues (considering the cooling effect of trees), are of course to be encouraged for navigation but considering the small size this town will start of are not to be encouraged on a large scale as this will only lead to new arrivals building a secluded hat 10 metres away from the last one with the town resembling one of these suburban nightmares. A good idea would be to look at Ruhr area mining settlements as they often built rather nice row houses. Pic related, these mining colonies as they've been called aren't as hostile as the british pendant with their endless rows of similar house.

Fa/tg/uy here. I've done some world-building stuff in the past, and the nicest cities I've ever designed resulted first making rules for the design based on the considerations of the site and then on the rights of the other people in the city.
Buildings weren't restricted in height to five stories because
