Now assuming that this isn't all conjecture and fantasy, and that you guys are serious, have you guys considered a sort of 'convention' to meet each other and network with?
Have you been communicating with each other outside of this board?
You know email, etc?

Okay, so, I'd like to ask some questions separated into categories:
WATER:
Have you been doing research into desert farming?
How will you be getting water?
Are there water tables?
Will you be digging wells?
Solar distillation of water from the sea? Because I don't think you'll be capable of reverse osmosis filtering on a large scale.
Rain catchment and underground storage of water?
FARMING:
What crops will you grow?
Have you looked into desert growing with ollas?
Do you have any information on the soil composition of where you will be farming?
Do you have a source for regionally adapted crops?
Will you have the manpower to farm on a large enough scale?
Will you be buying farm machinery?
Will you attempt to alter the terrain by deliberately planting trees?
Will you plant orchards?
CONSTRUCTION/HOUSING:
What structural resources are within 50 mile radius?
Stone?
Timber?
Clay?
Do any of you have engineering or general building expertise?
Will you be hiring builders?
Will there be communal housing or separated private homes?
POLITICAL:
Do any of you have contacts in Namibia?
Do you know the current attitude of the Namibian layman towards white settlers?
Will you be able to deal with the locals?
Will you be able to defend yourselves against attacks?
Do you have any ideas of a backup or escape plan?

Hey, Look fellas, I don't know what kind of IRC drama is going on, but, I'm not against the idea of Namibia, but you gotta get your shit together, otherwise you'll never be able to rough it in the third world. The transition from cushy first world nation to 3rd world will be incredibly jarring.
And, also, some of the questions I'm asking are actually more like suggestions of what you can possibly do.
Like collecting rainwater in a underground basin during the rainy season for example, thats a possible solution.
