As an American gringo that lived in Argentina for many years, I can tell you that's a bad idea.

The government wields a ton of power that would be unheard of in North America or Europe. They regularly lock people up decades for tax issues for being a nuisance to the State, imports are banned, acquiring dollars or euros is illegal even for foreigners in almost any circumstance, they shut off television and radio programs that criticize them in any area where the government owns the airwaves (90% outside of Buenos Aires) and they recently straight up murdered a guy for bringing a case against the president.

Argentina is practically a thuggish Soviet style dictatorship in everything but name only.

Not to mention property prices in the south (where the president is from) is being bought up by corrupt government officials and plutocrats jacking up the prices to a crazy degree.

A terrible terrible idea.

Lawsuits take… no exaggeration, decades.

Not to mention the whole plan is moot. A few years ago they passed a law that foreigners cannot "invade" a land by owning more than 49% of the land in a certain radius, so you'd need at least 51% of the people to be Argie bros anyways.

You'll sometimes have weird men (always men) just stop in a car or bike and eavesdrop on your conversations or take pics of people.

It's good because their weak ass faux James Bond shit has lowered crime substantially for the reason, but keep in mind the nation is under surveillance in ways that would cause average White people to riot in the streets in the US, is just commonplace over there.

But they are seemingly mostly well intentioned.

But I have to repeat about Argentina, the government is inefficient, not small government, they are inefficient in that Soviet style wait in the bread-lines for two hours inefficient, not like Mexican can't into government inefficient.

Argentina's government is practically all powerful and regulates everything in such a constrainting way that most people don't bother doing personal and business things because they don't want to deal with it.
