> Okay as far as I understand things right now, trimming out the loftier, long term goals, as far as I understand it the shorter term goal is to create a community of like minded people in Namibia. And Namibia was chosen due to lower land prices, possible high amount of resources, and that Namibia sparsely populated. This will be a community created legally within Namibia, and will abide by their laws, and everything will be on the up and up. From what I can tell you guys intend to start this community in a few ways. This is all correct.
>First obtain some farmland, and use that to to start the community with. From what I've picked up one of the targeted sites is about 1 million. This is a very popular idea, the location is still being debated upon.
>Second major part of the plan is setting up a NGO, with the stated purpose of helping the namibians with advanced farming techniques, and to combat poaching. The NGO would be used to help fund raise for buying the farm, setting up the community etc. This is correct
>What is the next goal after the initial scouting?Scouting will allow us to visit a plot of land for sale in person. I believe that the next step would be to gather money and assess the amount we have so we can see what properties are in our price range. If /namibia/ns see that there are white people with timestamps in Namibia, they will much more likely donate then donate to just an idea (I hope I expressed myself clearly there)
>Will the goals of the NGO be further fleshed out after the scouting party? This would be an objective, although whether it will happen before or after the scouting party goes to Namibia I do not know. We are waiting for Curonian to get back to us with NGO information at the moment and we will go from there.
>Since you guys are trying to do things legally, do you guys currently have personnel knowledgeable about farming african climes to help with that part? Lots of farmers have expressed their interest in joining us. If they do not join us, we can always learn the techniques we need. I must mention, farming is not set in stone either, basically everything is subject to change, but farming has been a very popular idea.
>PoachingAs far as I know, protecting endangered species is a service we plan to provide to the government or any organization that will pay. All we need for that is firearms (Namibian legal) and a vehicle (extremely cheap in Namibia)
>I know you guys have set up a list of human resources, does that list have lawyers to help flesh things out?I believe the creator of the NGO knows some lawyers. I cannot speak on his behalf, that would be a question for him! I personally would not want to spend money on lawyers unless it was really, really worth it
>From what I can tell the plan is to finish scouting, and setting up the NGO, and then you'll go into fundraising. has a structure been set up for it?For fundraising? This will be decided soon however the plan is for it to be extremely transparent and hard for one person to do something with the money (aka multiple higher-up people must agree before money is used for anything)
>What are the plans to provide employment for the members of the community? Well, farming is a full time comittment if we decide to go that route. On the other hand, the creation of an online casino would not be difficult and would make us a lot of money (one of my favorite ideas). Another idea would be installing "green" sources of energy for businesses and government institutions (they just completed a very big project at one of there universities if I recall). Protecting animals from poachers, guiding tourists, etc. That is one benefit to having an extremely large plot of land, you can take tourists around it, show them some sights, and basically the only charge is a bit of food water and gasoline.
>Basically is structure being set up so people don't think they are throwing money at a whole? This is going to be quite organized. Once we decide what we are putting our money into after careful consideration, we will stick to it until we are able to expand into other areas.
